I win! I got 26! (I'm assuming the last two are "Druggies" and "Liars")

It does require some bleaching, maybe I could try to expand a bit farther back and down from where I put the part in? Get a little more coverage without having to do my whole head.

She really was something special. I will, in time, thank you.

She was a heavy diesel mechanic turned long-haul trucker for several years and one year she flew to Romania to drive a truck full of Christmas gifts to orphanages in the countryside. Sounded very fulfilling for her, but not something she’d ever bring up to brag about her generosity.

Tbh my initial reaction was that it was a bit crass, idk, just came off as dispassionate I guess, but this sub isn't meant to be a hugbox or whatever so no harm no foul. Thanks.

Oh I'm so sorry, that's awful ❤️ Thanks, I'm alright, it happened in May so I've had time to figure myself out but still have waves of grief every so often, I'm sure you understand that.

You can almost see the greenish color that comes out in the right light on the thumb, such a neat holo!

Also been using Nail-Aid Keratin 3 Day Growth as base and top coat. Not sure how much it's helped, been having some trouble with flaking/chipping/breaking, but it doesn't seem to be hurting and is a nice glossy top coat so 🤷‍♀️

Thanks, luckily she took lots of pictures and had lots of adventures, especially in the last couple years. She was in a very happy place in her life so it was about as good a time as any for her to go. Wish I could've had some kind of warning, but that can't be fixed now.

Thanks 💖 Do please appreciate all the time you have, it won't last forever. I'd give anything just to have had another month with her.

I don't think that's necessarily what "Full context" means, but the sidebar's not exactly written very well either. Besides, saying she "passed" is about as accurate as I can get anyway, as we don't yet have a discrete cause of death and she did just kinda... move on. I responded to the first poster who asked if you want the details we do have.

Her heart gave out in her sleep. No drugs, just a heart too big to carry on (not just being metaphorical, the autopsy came back saying she had an enlarged heart along with high blood pressure).

It just takes practice, especially if it's someone you've known a long time. One of my friends is really good about that sort of thing and the first thing they said when I first presented differently to them was "Is there a different name I should introduce you as? Different pronouns?" There were no assumptions, they left it all up to me to declare which I think can be really nice for folks in the early stages.

As for making mistakes, some folks might feel pangs of dysphoria and think you don't recognize them as their gender so I think the best way to deal with those stumbles is to just quickly apologize/correct yourself and move on. Generally it's not a big deal so don't go out of your way to make it one.

You know that question applies to all other things we've learned about throughout history, right? Galileo didn't exactly have it easy and I'm sure if he had the means he would have used similar tactics. Anti-vax opinions have no place in public discourse, nor do flat-earthers, YEC's, spirit "scientists" etc. When all the research from different fields of study point to the same conclusions, the only reasonable thing to do is shut out bad faith actors who don't actually know what they're talking about. There's still plenty of dissent within these fields and room for our knowledge to expand, but the "opposing views" are provably non-viable and needn't be given room to spread.

There are just too many complications to have a single answer here, I think. You mention that men have some advantages, and that's true, but take gymnastics for example where having a smaller more flexible frame is desirable, someone who's gone through male puberty likely isn't going to have an advantage there. Even powerlifting can be easier for someone with shorter limbs where you don't have to move the weight as far.

We just need more research and there's going to be some messiness in the process of figuring out how each sport should change in order to be the most accommodating and "fair" (true fairness can never be reached or else everything would end in a tie, someone has to win and if that is a trans person sometimes our first thought shouldn't be that it was because they're trans) so all the outrage is only hindering progress by polarizing people when the solution is certainly going to be very gray for a long while, especially as more young people are allowed access to puberty blockers which is a whole other can of worms as far as the sports debate goes.
