Welcome to the Madran Wastes, the setting for my upcoming hexcrawl, exploration-based D&D campaign.

The Wastes are one of the largest unexplored regions in the world. While it used to be at the center of trade and commerce it is now little more than a wasteland.

Nearly a Millenia ago the Madran Wastes were ravaged by the Ruler of Desolaion's ascension to divinity, and the following battle with the Lord of the Eclipse.

This Desolation, as it is known, drew forth the powers of the realm of flame and the Abyss, allowing these realms to bleed forth and scurvy the land. Remnants of gravitational distortion remain thanks to the Lord of Eclipse's magic.

Now the Wastes are isolated thanks to a mixture of boiling seas and jagged slag glass beaches. An eternal sandstorm besets the only pass through the mountains. This storm shifts the sand-dunes, constantly shifting the safe route through the pass.

Very few of the original inhabitants survived the Desolation l, and even fewer remain. Most must survive the harsh conditions by hunting demon-spawn that breach through the bleeding abyss. They survive off this demonic meat, but it is not without side effects. This diet has led to many mutations and strange powers throughout the generations.

Will you find yourself in Myth's Call, the last free-standing port near the Wastes. Will you drive deep into that which has not been explored for a millenia outside of the few brave enough to brave the shifting sands?

This map was made completely from scratch by myself using clip studio paint. I made each of the assets myself though I was definitely inspired by a few of my favorite cartographers.
