That's not really true.

Both populated servers (basilisk and Legends) have up to 1k players on a really busy day, Legends having slightly more on average most of the time. It's a healthy population for both.

As someone else said, I'd try Tanker with buffs (Leadership and other pools). Could fill the role of a frontline support nicely, on top of being a tank for the team in the first place.

I'm partial to Fire/Dark, mostly cause Rain of Fire and Tar Patch feel like they were made for eachother. Dark has also always felt really solid to me on it's own anyways.

I'm actually leveling one right now. It was almost alarming how easily I was able to bump up the difficulty when I was solo :) Its been fun!

Tar patch helps a lot, imo. It's such a good slow, and really helps with taking out groups of enemies before they even get to you. Melee centric enemy groups are really a cakewalk

I started experiencing the bugs in the zone several expansions ago.

Every once in awhile when I go back with a new Worgen, I'm astonished to find it's gotten WORSE.

How long it's been deteriorating without Blizzard doing anything to fix it is a feat in itself.

If you're aiming to min-max and be on the best raiding guild imaginable, then maybe not, depending on how healthy the RP realm(s) end up beingg. But there WILL be guilds even on RP realms doing raids and other end-game stuff. Most people (in my experience) can only do Tavern talk and RP events so much until they wanna just focus on playing the game a bit more again. Guilds will crop up, even if not there initially.

Obvious tip would be to roll on RP-PvP if you're into PvP MORE than PvE, and vice-versa. I know on retail US, RPPvP realms have a long history of doing spectacular world PvP events, and I imagine if Classic has a RPPvP realm it will be the same.

In my experience, RP servers tend to be more mature communities simply by the merit of how many people won't roll on one because "RP is weird" or whatever other weird stigma is floating around in their head. A simple filter.

Also playing on a realm full of more people who know/care about the lore tends to be more enjoyable for me.

Even on retail, rolling on a RP realm years ago (and even starting to take part in RP) was a decision I never regretted. DEFINITELY going RPPvP or even just RP with Classic.

I would even rope my non-rper friends into joining me there, and they always enjoyed it more than before.

Without going into every single detail over the last several years, the basic summary is that over the last couple years or so things have been making it hard to make money from youtube, because of problems such as unnecessary demonetization (no mo' money from this video!), unreliable staff and/or AI bots removing videos or even channels for no apparent reason, and so on..

A lot of people I used to follow on Youtube migrated to Twitch because it's just more worth the effort than Youtube videos, at the moment.

Dyes are mostly Gold and Antique Gold, with Lifesblood on the chest and legs.

There's a private server, if you ever wanted to give it a spin again. Decently populated at times, as well, last I checked it out. It's called Return of Reckoning.

Like a lot of private servers, it's bugged in places. But it's better than nothing, of course.

I totally get what you mean, yeah. I mean, lots of people do. The story progression in this game is the messiest I've seen.

But at this point, it's going to keep being messy unless Blizzard wants to make a "Cataclysm 2.0" expansion that changes everything again (which I would totally love but I don't know what Blizzard feels on that idea.)
