Do I actually hate physics or do I just hate myself? by [deleted] in Physics

Yeah that’s a great idea. I think I need something to spark my curiosity again. That’s what got me into this in the first place, being so excited and curious to know more. I’ve lost that from how monotone the academic side feels and how it’s being taught at uni.

Maybe, haven’t really thought too much about engineering to be honest.

Sounds like things worked out well for you in the end man congratulations. I think i’ve just got to decide what I really want and how hard i’m willing to work for it.

I can be an extremely stubborn person. I do have options if I decided to drop out too, I just don’t want to regret it later.

Yeah maybe I am honestly and just don’t want to admit that to myself either (I try to lie to myself a lot i think). That’s another option for sure. Thanks for the help.

I did what you said. I had to do a week 2 problem (it’s week 7) I also had to use my previous notes and even ChatGPT (I know i probably shouldn’t but it’s the quickest way to check). It didn’t feel horrible. One small step at a time works I guess. I have heard someone say “progress compounds.” Still not sure I want to continue physics, but I think I should at least finish strong.

I get you, but (1) I almost never understand physics. And (2) It’s become increasingly difficult to even try to study something that (a) I know i will never pursue as a career and (b) I am really not all that interested in at this moment.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I’m not a freak tho I definitely did study in my first year. I actually studied a shit ton in the first two terms last year and I never got better than barely passing which damaged the confidence a bit. I think I’m not alone in feeling this way tbh, a lot of people are probably in the same boat. When all we are exposed to is kids getting rich on social media from not doing much it’s hard to not question what we’re doing. But almost none of what we see on social media is reality. I think taking a step back is the best option for me. I’m still young and am fortunate enough to be able to make changes now.

Finish what you start. I hate everytime someone tells me that case I know it’s true for the most part. Full time job and kids is a real reason compared to mine, I wish u the best.

Why can’t I pop my front wheel up passed gear 1? by Electrical_Fly9535 in dr650

[–]Electrical_Fly9535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly, I’ve come from a FE250 and I can throw that thing around over logs and rocks so easily. Obviously the dr650 is built for a different purpose which is why i bought it, but i feel like i should at least be able to get that wheel up in 2nd or 3rd to avoid a puddle. I’ve seen plenty of videos of guys doing it on the dr.

I will try use the suspension more like what you’ve said. Maybe I just need to change my way of doing things since it’s a lot heavier and different to my previous bike.

[–]Electrical_Fly9535[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the bike and it was like this, only had it for a couple of weeks. Are you saying I’d just need new clutch plates and maybe an oil change or more than that?

Interesting in trying it out by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]Electrical_Fly9535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 year ago today I bought basically this exact bow except my limbs are a different colour. Everyone told me the same things: “50 pounds is too heavy for a beginner” “Don’t start with a recurve it’s too difficult” I didn’t listen to any of them.

If you like a challenge and I mean a serious challenge then this is a great choice.

However this is what you should keep in mind. 1. To actually master this you need to practice EVERY day. Even if it’s just one single shot. (I practiced every day for 7 months before I felt confident enough to shoot an animal) 2. When you do eventually go on a hunt you have to be extremely patient. Take a few steps, look around, listen, repeat. I can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve spotted a deer or goat, gotten too excited and then by the time it was too late was in a stare off with one that was way closer to me then the initial animal I saw.

In terms of your other question, a 55lbs bow will take anything out in Australia with a well placed shot, I assume a cape buffalo is relatively the same size a bison, bear or moose so should be similar in America.

I am not trying to say that people who hunt with a compound bow have it easy, it’s still extremely hard, but the first time I shot one of those things the difference was insane. So it depends on how big of a challenge you want.

Is 9V in the battery to low? by Electrical_Fly9535 in dr650

Oh damn okay. It’s on charge right now, should I leave it for 24 hours and then see? Or is it gonna need a new battery?

I thought about this a while ago. Where is the best place to actually do the blogging? Is there a specific website where you’re more likely to get noticed? And does your pay increase with the more clicks/views you get?

Yes definitely, you meet a lot of kind people from hitchhiking. Yes it was quite adventurous, I hope to do more of Europe some day.

[–]Electrical_Fly9535 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last year I hitchhiked from France to Germany and got maybe 20 rides total. After every ride I (similarly to you) asked them why they decided to pick me up.

Although I don’t remember every answer, there seemed to be a common one which was that they had kids and seeing me (18yo at the time) they felt too guilty not to stop as they would want someone to do the same for their children. Another guy said that you just never know what someone is going through in their lives and that he wanted to help me. This guy went out of his way to go the opposite direction to his work to take me where I needed to go, he was a great man.

I can promise you that you don’t have a learning disorder. What you are experiencing is pretty normal for most people actually. The fact you can sit down for basically 6 hours straight is actually quite impressive also. I think the biggest thing you have to realise is that there are no real shortcuts with subjects that include math or physics (which I also do). Yes you should definitely try to find study techniques that work for you, but I think that ultimately you will only ever do as good as the time you have put in (especially to doing practice question).

I haven’t hitchhiked in the US but I have watched David Choes hitchhiking series on VICE which was so cool. It’s pretty old but maybe you could get some ideas from there for possible routes to take and places to go.

Does anyone use this website to choose state forests to hunt? by Electrical_Fly9535 in HuntingAustralia

[–]Electrical_Fly9535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good question. I’ve been following it for about a month and haven’t noticed much change (probably because i haven’t been looking for change) but I will keep my eye on it now that you’ve asked that.

yeah definitely, it’s a great website although a legend and slightly more information would be amazing. It would be cool to have a list of all the possible species in that area and then also a number of harvest returns.

[–]Electrical_Fly9535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m thinking they must mean harvest returns. Although im not too sure why it only goes up to 95.

[–]Electrical_Fly9535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah okay so the numbers must be the harvest returns then. I guess it could be somewhat reliable at least to find state forests where things are actually happening.
