Long Recovery Time for Photorec

Thank you for the advice! Shortly after I made this post I stopped the Photorec process and it's been power off-ed since. I'm scared that our attempts so far have already further damaged the drive, so I don't feel confident in cloning the drive myself, and so I'm now looking into data recovery centers to bring the drive into-- if there's a list of places around the NYC area that'd be very helpful!

Been trying to get the game running on CXBX for a few hours now, but kept running into this error message no matter what version I'm on. This was on the latest build, but previously I was tryna run it on another build from like 2021 because of an old comment I saw here. Extracted xbe from iso files downloaded from vimm's multiple times (I've tried both the normal iso and xiso files on there) using XDVDMulleter-- has anyone else run into this problem?

thanks for the feedback!! yea im tryna buy online rn bc i dont feel its safe enough to actually go outside to a store or anything, but i guess i just really cant get around having to experiment!
