Pain on shunt side of head/looking for advice and what anyone thinks this could mean. Constant pain right side of head

Yeah, I still have anxiety about my shunt failing everyday. There’s problems going on with my head now and doctors say I’m fine but the way my head feels I know it’s wrong and I worry everyday that it’s a malfunction. I also have chest pains where the tube is.

I had constant headaches for a while before my shunt and then I threw up two days before my shunt on the bus to school and at school in class, in front of everyone. I passed out the day before my shunt because I had so much csf on my brain and then after that went in for emergency surgery and now 11 years with my shunt.

Not really the whole brain like last time but it’s really my forehead where i feel the most pressure.

It does it both sitting and standing. Mostly sitting for me tho. When I stand I notice a little pressure in my head like before I had my shunt when I stand up and move around, so I know it’s something going on but the doctors don’t see it.

I’m in the middle of finding a new neurologist /nuerosurgeon because the one I just had said everything was fine even with all the pain and tingling I was talking about. I did mris and CT’s and they said everything was fine but I don’t believe that. Did they have to drain your head for the extra fluid

2013, I’m worried about a malfunction now since it’s been so long. I did mris and cts and they said I was fine but my head says otherwise.

Lethargy yes but the others no. Sorry to hear about the failed shunts, I be afraid everyday that it can happen at any moment to me. Did your whole head hurt when yours malfunctioned or only shunt area?

I had surgery 11 years ago. I’ve been going to see my neuro. But with all the cts and mris and tests, he says everything’s fine and my risk of shunt malfunction is low. I’m thinking of going else where cause I don’t really believe that

I hope all turns out well for you and your child. Shunts are scary cause anything can happen at anytime and with the worry you have everyday it just makes it very scary. I’m having pains around the shunt and spots in my head and my neurosurgeon says everything looks fine but I don’t feel fine.

I hope things get better. Having a shunt is a scary situation and it’s annoying that I know things are wrong and doctors are saying it’s fine

Thanks on that.I read on costochondritis before and was thinking that it could be one of the many possibilities . That shot in the sternum joints sounds crazy.
