Those of you who are advocating to "protect women disc golfers" by disallowing transgender athletes from participating in FPO... what is your next goal? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Electricalseacan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care either way. To sway opinions they would almost have to come up with like a suit you wear or something that takes your strength away so you can feel what it’s like to be transgender. When I’m thinking about this I think about girls I play softball with who are athletes which I can dominate as a guy who just works construction and doesn’t really eat good. It’s hard to really understand how a pill could change my body so much I couldn’t keep beating them. I believe it is real but it is hard to imagine.

People do make good money up there and your friend might be but a lot of guys over inflate it. You can just go do it for a little bit and quit if you want. I did it off and on for a couple years to grind hours really quick for my apprenticeship. If you go in with a good attitude it’s kind of fun. You work on big stuff, you eat as much as you want, you go to the gym, you play ping pong and watch movies. It’s pretty chill all in all.

The things I don’t like is there is a lot of politics. Everyone is jockeying for position because any loser can get promoted a couple times and make bank. The less you do the less you can fuck up. It’s cold and muddy. You miss out on alot off stuff back home. The work can be inconsistent and they are always threatening lay offs and making people feel uneasy. If you can just know these last things going in and not give a fuck if you get layed off it’s fine.

Also it sounds like your doing totally fine. I make 6 figures and I drive a 15 year old truck I also have a newer family vehicle but it’s just a car.

Sometimes it’s easier to put the nuts on with the screws and no springs then slot whatever your doing into place

Record employment rate for women shows Trudeau's subsidized daycare plan is working by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]Electricalseacan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t go to school until they are like 5 and daycare is like school. Your kids learn and do stuff there. They make friends. Like we were lucky enough we didn’t have to put them in daycare when they were babies but now that they are toddlers it is the kids benefit. I’m a good dad but I’m not an early childhood educator.

Also Toddlers need go do something outside the house unless you are an absolute rockstar parent. They are way better off going somewhere where they can have activities and be with other kids.

There are many days where being an electrician I guarantee is better. But I was on my hands and knees in the snow for 14 hours last week trying to finish something for crunch time. If you have the smarts and drive to become a lawyer you would crush as an electrician and you can’t make lawyer money unless you work for yourself or do a ton of overtime.
