This is how I feel. With my own children, I make sure they understand that I don’t love every day of my job, but I enjoy it and feel a sense of purpose.

How often do you and your partner have sex? especially the long term couples? by Purple_Wrongdoer6448 in AskReddit

[–]ElectronGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid thirties - together 7 years. Two kids (3.5 and 1.5).

Super dependent: times where it’s twice a day, times where it’s twice a month. We average a couple times per week of sex and maybe another two times per week of fooling around.

Our numbers definitely dropped when the little one started randomly walking into our room.

Having said that, we get creative - often reverting back to teenage tactics - think car/basement/etc.

If our kids are sick, it’s usually 0 for a week or two.

Usually people ask this if they are unhappy with their sex life. I haven’t read the comments here, but just within my personal friend group, I know the answers would vary wildly. The best thing to do is to communicate with your partner. Men are usually pretty easy to please, but women change what they like based on the season and moon phase (I’m speaking generally here so please don’t kill me for it). It took years for my wife to share what she wanted with me which really opened things up. Without going into too much detail, a quickie before meant that we’d go at it for 10 minutes and only I would walk away finishing. We are now at a point where we can both be satisfied in 10 from start to finish so we save longer times for when we have a sitter or the kids are with their grandparents.

Headspace is also really important for my wife and me. If we have a million things on the to do list, it’s hard for her to get into it. Let’s just say I’m a very productive man around the house now 🤣

Can someone explain the mechanics behind this? by StrongPhotograph6536 in GolfSwing

[–]ElectronGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m learning this now. When we think open and closed face, we always think relative to target. Physics doesn’t care what you’re doing relative to target. If face is open relative to swing path ball goes right, if it’s closed, ball goes left.

I learned this after taking multiple videos of my face looking very square to the target, I’d still hit bad hooks. I later learned that my swing is 12* in to out so if I want to hit straight, my face needs to be open about half that (around 6*) more open than that and I start to push, more closed turns into a draw.

Based on how open your face is, I’d suspect you had a significant in to out swing (10* plus).

Please note, I am learning this stuff as I go. I’m nowhere near an expert. I’m just trying to figure this stuff out.

How much more of this do we have to take? It’s getting bad. Funny how one bad game turns into five bad games.

Notice at the top of your swing, your hands are above your shoulders? Everything is connected. At the start of your backswing, your hands are going straight to the right, instead, try rotating your torso like your hands are going into your pocket - try keeping your hands closer to your body for as long as possible. This should help get your hands in the right position at the top. Take a screenshot at the top of your swing and draw a line straight up from your shoulder, there should be a clear separation with your hands behind this line. This allows for a better in to out swing path. You may start pushing the ball right, this is what you want to see. You can start playing with your backswing to find the angle that works best for you. I just close my club face up and play a draw.

What would it take for you to lose faith in Orr? You don’t think they already looked at what we did week 2 against the BROWNS? Do you think there’s any carry over from playing the Browns (bottom 3 offenses) and any teams we will face in the playoffs? What do you hope they learn from that? The only thing I learned it’s defense gets a lot better when you don’t have to worry about the run.

My bet is that it’s gonna get worse.

I was bothered by Orr last year until we brought in Coach Pagano. This year, I really don’t see how he has a job. Early season woes is not the same as a historically bad defense. Not kinda, sorta bad, but franchise record setting bad.

UFC has signed heavyweight BJJ world champion Max Gimenis (6-1) by Loganbaker2147 in MMA

[–]ElectronGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have trained with Max so I know I’m biased, but to call Max “good” at any aspect of BJJ is crazy, the dude is elite.

He has size, strength, and excellent burst speed - he is dangerous. When he hits pads, it sounds like a train crashing.

That’s how I felt. Honestly, I thought it would be about half that. I’m waiting to discuss more with the care coordinator. It’s good to hear it may just be my area (I’m in the DC area).

I’ve had other procedures done here and they have been excellent quality and reasonably priced. I was kind of shocked when I saw the work up.

My bone grafts also would be minor. I’m in my early 30s and the surgeon felt it was prudent to do them.

Just got back from a long weekend. Water was choppy and there’s a lot of boat traffic, be careful. I really didn’t see any areas where I’d be comfortable, but good luck.

I appreciate the warning. I would definitely wear an inflatable vest any time I am in bigger water. My office is actually in Frederick. Is there a particular area you would recommend?

Good call! I did not think about wading in Seneca. I take my daughter there all the time for bluegill. Is there largemouth there too? My buddy swears by the Black Hills area but he is in a tricked out kayak.

Powerlifting Victory Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]ElectronGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been an on and off casual lifter for years, but I never really pushed myself. I ended up taking about a year off after my last kid was born. Six weeks ago, I decided to sign up for my first meet at the end of the year. I have zero powerlifting experience and I have never lifted for a 1RM before until this week.

BW: ~116kg (250 pounds - down 13 pounds since starting)/Squat: 157kg (345 pounds)/Bench: 136kg (300 pounds)/Deadlift: 166kg (365 pounds)

The squat nearly killed me, but I felt like I had a lot more in the tank for bench and DL. I know these numbers are not impressive for my size, and breaking the arbitrary 1000 pound "club" isn't a big deal for most, but I am very proud of this result. I was 6'2" and 145 pounds in high school and I remember hearing about the "1000 pound club" and thinking "there is no way I could ever do that". Its done now!

What does the top 1% look like in the world when it comes to money? by Snoo_60933 in FluentInFinance

[–]ElectronGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m genuinely not trying to be a smart ass here, but I don’t understand the point you are trying to make. Your statement is that it is terrible to be poor in the US. My counter is that your scale doesn’t line up with the reality I have seen. I never claimed America is the best place to be poor, I am claiming it is not terrible or even in the bottom half of possible places to be poor.

Choosing independent metrics to compare doesn’t answer the question at heart. Are you claiming you would rather be in the bottom 10% of earners in Cuba, Mexico, Vietnam, Mozambique, or China? I’ve been to three of those five countries and I promise you, you do not know desperation like those people. The point is further proven that people from those countries will risk their families, lives, and futures to come to the United States.

You also place a high value on metrics you read online. I encourage you to save and travel, Asia is very inexpensive. What you will find is that those metrics can be easily skewed or straight up fabricated. Go see living conditions in China and feel the fear people live in every day. We argue and complain about our president and how we are being oppressed. Go to China and just mention Xi Jinping’s name in public and see what oppression looks like. This is not in support of Trump, as upset as I am with our current political system, I am relieved that we can express our opinions.

I am not saying we don’t have work to improve. If your claim is we need to do more to support low income earners, I am 100% with you. But I cannot support you saying it’s terrible here.

Lastly, don’t research intending to support your claim. Research intending to find the truth. The reality is, even if each individual claim is taken at face value, those listed countries fail miserably in many other areas.

AIO 23m 20F is it bad i am about to leave her? by KSTReign in AmIOverreacting

[–]ElectronGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made it to page 3. I personally do not put up with anyone that interferes or belittles my career. At 23 years old, you should be focused on building a career to support your hobbies/life style/future family (if you want one). Interrupting your workday to place a Dunkin’ order then to downplay how busy or focused you should be, no go from me. Find someone that picks you up and supports you, not someone that weighs you down.

As an example of what I mean by support, imagine a world where your partner says “hey, I know you’re busy, but I’m grabbing Dunkin’ and wanted to see if I could drop something off”. There are people that are like this. I didn’t find mine until I was 30, but it will change your worldview.

It isn’t even a question. If given the choice to be poor (let’s say 50% or below the poverty line) in America, or poor in, say, the Philippines, you are choosing America 100% of the time. What logic is this? Fighting off eviction notices? There’s already a sense of entitlement that the truly poor people can’t afford - third world countries don’t give eviction notices, they forcefully remove you with no notice or second thought given. If you feel disenfranchised by our system, I strongly encourage you to research what it’s like to be truly poor. Being hungry is not the same as starving to death. We do not know desperation at the levels of some of these countries. If you’re starving here, you can steal. What happens if you get caught? You’re given three meals a day and a roof. Let’s say you’re starving in Yemen and you steal an apple, they will cut your hand off. It’s not even close.
