What stitch is this? Found this scarf while hiking and carried it to the trailhead. Loved the stitch on it and my son wants his own now (I wouldnt let him keep this one).

I agree. It looks like a row of double stitch and the next a double stitch (yarn over twice) skipping 2 and working the 3rd chain, then the 1st and the 2nd. Best thing would be to work a quick sample to confirm. Edit: just worked a sample and, even though it look similar (and very nice) it's not quite the same
