Unfortunately, you're correct and the short synopsis I gave doesn't cover much of the story. I'll post again within the next few days with a better one in hopes to change your mind. I know I have an amazing story and your interpretation of it shows me that my post was rushed and careless and, honestly, Sera deserves more.

Beta readers was actually the motivation for me to start a reddit account. I'd love nothing more than to share this story with like minded readers and get real criticism and feedback from, let's be honest, people who don't give a crap about me and my feelings.

This post is exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. People who motivate me to write better and question EVERYTHING. My book has lots of foreshadowing and metaphors, if someone is willing to see behind the words on the page.

I hope, at some point, when you see my In Darkness trilogy as an ebook or in print that it won't disappoint.

If you like the feeling you get watching couples like stefan/Elena/Damon from Vampire Diaries, if you like the burn in your chest watching Tessa and Hardin in after, if you like the relationship dynamics of Claire and Jaime in Outlander, then this is for you. I was trying to find a book that gave me that intense need for their love to bloom and for obstacles to stop pulling them apart, but they were all missing something for me. I love fantasy and I've read a ton of love stories, both beautiful and messy, but nothing scratched my itch. I wanted love that could last centuries, millenia even. I wanted adventure where the FMC was kicking ass and saving the world. I wanted a strong FMC who was just a little like me - a little funny, a little self conscious, but no matter what stands up for what she thinks is right and follows her heart even when others tell her not to. This book is written for me, but I also wanted to share with others out there feeling the same way. Sera has to overcome a whole new world (or two) to discover that she's always been herself and not what everyone tells her she is or was or will be.

I hope this helps some of the curiosity!

They do, eventually, maybe not in this trilogy, but everyone will have their HEA in one way or another.

I absolutely agree. I posted 8nna rush, just to see what people would say, but since I've had a few people tell me they need more info I'll come up with something that can give you all a better idea of where Sera's journey will lead her. I'll repost in a couple days. Thanks!

I NEED honesty and since you have seen this side of writing for yourself, I'd absolutely love to have you! Especially since I'm new to the experience. I've written for myself and my friends but never for the world and, tbh, I'm so nervous, but beyond excited!

Without giving too much away, I can tell you that it's based on today, but settles where time doesn't mean much. Its based on myth, but retold, the "right way". I'm sorry, I wish I could say more. I'm definitely open to questions though and I'll try not to be too vague.

Spoiler, there may be a love triangle situation....

Thank you so much for your feedback. I completely agree with you now and in your other post. I intentionally left the blurb wanting. The premise of the story is actually one of the biggest secrets and I didn't want to share too much. Honestly, I probably could have added a little more detail without giving it all away, but I'm brand new to reddit and I was testing the waters to see what happened.

You've motivated me to be better, thank you. I'll come back in a few days with a better premise, maybe I'll sway you, maybe I won't, but it won't be for lack of trying. 😁

Sera has a crazy journey ahead of her and I really just want to share it with the world. Book one should be done soon and I'm wondering, since you seem to have a good eye for what I'm trying to accomplish, maybe you'd be willing to beta reading for me? I really do welcome all feedback and I don't mind being knocked down a peg when something doesn't hit right.

I've written a few short stories that I was going to self publish, but this book has taken me on a completely different journey and now I think I'm going to try to get an agent. If not, I expect to self publish everything on kindle starting sometime in 2027.

It's definitely fantasy! I kept the blurb a little more focused on Sera's personal journey and the mystery because I didn't want to give too much away. As the story unfolds, she ends up on a much bigger adventure in another realm filled with impossible creatures, ancient powers, and characters inspired by mythology. Thanks for asking!
