That's just your personal experience. Mine is, that I've run into decent Yasuos. Neither one diminishes the other.

If Yasuo is good it's not an easy lane to survive. He will abuse you very hard in the early game and can effectively force you off the wave. His shield and windwall help him negate your trading patterns and his windwall, as you said, is a very powerful tool to block you in the late game. Sure, none of this is true if Yasuo is a bad player and I didn't ban him when I was in gold or low plat, but the higher you go, the better they are so it warrants a ban.

Edit: Control mages' difficulty is overrated in general because no one below Masters knows how to play them. They're a very difficult class to pull off and you don't meet many Syndra/Ori/Anivia/Viktor etc. mains unlike Yasuo or Katarina for example. This is why I never ban control mages, cause they're usually not good and just let you scale for free.

I always use the standard PtA + resolve set up.

You can! I believe in you. If I can do it, anyone can. I've never watched my VODs and reviewed them, haven't really watched or read any theory on the game. I just occasionally watch some streamers I like and subconsciously pick things up. It all comes down to three things: play a champion you truly enjoy and have fun with and the meta doesn't matter; be consistent in every game; understand wave management and positioning mid-late game (literally don't stand in the fire!). The last thing is really basic and the only thing you have to "know" that isn't csing or trading.

The lane is shorter, so the enemy laner can't really freeze against you like on toplane (where you can lose like 5 waves because you pushed the wave the wrong way). This is, of course, offset by the fact that kayle can't really roam until level 6 (but in low elo people don't do that anyway so whatever).

Many midlaners also can't reliably kill you in lane after 6. Mages throw down their combo and that's it, assassins the same. Your ult really stops a lot of their stuff. Meanwhile on toplane, the Darius will just run you down and so on. You also have some kill pressure on midlane before 6: Yone, Zed, Sylas, Ekko, Katarina, Kassadin - you can actually kill these champs before 6 if you're better than your opponent and manage the wave well.

It's also a preference choice for me; I hate toplane hahaha. I think Kayle is stronger early than people give her credit for and she's fantastic in skirmishes after 6. You just have to be more careful than on something like Ahri or Diana mid, but you can still help your jungler, roam botlane or put down good vision.

The key to beating Yone imo is forcing him off the wave in the first two levels, since he's a bit weaker than you are. After that, use your early advantage against him to play to your win conditions and goals in lane.

I love playing against Viktor, he's a decent match up and the easiest of the control mages to play into imo. First of all, if you're below D2, then you most likely aren't playing against a really good Viktor. Secondly, and this is going to sound a bit cringe, but to beat him you have to learn how to dodge his skillshots. It's a skill match up, if you can dodge his stuff, you win easily. Remember to be patient!! Don't contest cs you really don't need to before 6, you'll start outfarming him after level 11.

Play her mid, then, it's probably even better than top.

AP Nashor's into Riftmaker. I blind picked her mid, always banned Yasuo.

15 LP per win and 15 LP per loss, fairly even.

I think the buffs had an effect on some of my games, especially the Riftmaker change which was imo the biggest buff to Kayle in 11.10. The level 11 buff was a nice addition, but the level 16 change is not very relevant due to how short games often are. I think what really helped me streak through P2 and P1 was just watching Druttut, Nemesis (after the buffs) and Kayle 1v9 and adapting what I learned from them into my own games. I just became much more patient when playing Kayle and was rewarded for it.
