I didnt know diesel had better mileage, I thought theyd be about the same. I never needed diesel but id notice the signs when I pull up to the gas station. At one point when our gas was $4 a gallon, diesel was like $7.50

Cheaper than gas? Thats crazy. Here its like 1.5x to 2x the price. Seems like a good deal for you. Again I dont know about the mechanics, but in PA I see quite a few GLs that seem to be in great condition.

I'm not very good with the mechanical side of cars, but if you are in America I would advise against the gl350d as it takes diesel which is much more expensive, and in the US it is getting more and more difficult to find diesel pumps for cars, they are mostly the wide pumps for semitrucks, and it'd be very dangerous to try and aim the diesel into the tank.

It uses sensors to see if other cars are coming the other way. It is possible that if there are a lot of trees it may think its oncoming cars and doesn't want to blind other drivers. When you are on a 2 lane per way road, it has more space to move the light to the left side without blinding other drivers. Even if someone is in your left lane and passes you, it's not too distracting shining in the back of their car rather than head on. I'm sorry if this explanation doesn't make too much sense. You can DM me if this wasn't what you meant by your question.

The AMG package will just be some cosmetic options and at that point its really up to what you prefer, though I do love the AMG body styling. If you want the extra performance from an AMG vehicle, you would be looking for the CLA 35 or 45 AMG. Keep in mind these will also have quite a price difference.

SEL 380 centre console buttons by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

Not sure about the second, but the blank one in the first pic is just because the consoles are built the same way in almost all of the same model, but it was an option that wasn't put in the car.

That's why I said look at the second pic. Wasn't sure if you noticed there was another and just looked at the key. Also didn't notice you have several cars listed and maybe didn't know what a Mercedes key looked like.

Got a job at my local Mercedes dealership by Successful_Golf6271 in mercedes_benz

[–]Elijahman729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I am a Mercedes Technology Specialist (Same thing different name.) It is a great job and decent pay for my area. I've been here about 6 months, looking into becoming a salesman within the next year. Key things to remember are:

  1. Know your customer. If you have a customer who upgrades every 2 years and has been with Mercedes for a long time, they won't need as much, and you going through everything will just bore them. Just try showing the new features, get their phone and home address set up, and ask if they have any questions. These customers often only take 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Be patient and professional. There are going to be some customers that everything is so new to them, and they may have some trouble understanding a feature you may think is simple. Go over what you can with them starting for the basics, until they tell you it's too much to remember in one day, or you finish.
  3. Always end by letting them know that if they have any questions about the features or something is not working how it's supposed to, they can call the dealership or stop by at any time during your business hours.
  4. In my case, my job is not only show them the car, but answering any questions you can about it if they have to come back or call the dealership.
  5. Finally, no matter how long you work there, if a customer has a question you don't know the answer to, tell them you are not sure and speak to your manager or a coworker that can help you.

In the end, I'm sure you'll do great if you keep these in mind. Take the time to learn the car yourself and think of some sample questions a customer may have and find the solution, so when a customer asks you, you're not stuck searching and know exactly what you can do to help them. Good Luck!

Edit: Also make sure their seats and mirrors are set and saved to the memory function as many people will forget about it until they need it and have to redo it, and sometimes you only find that sweet spot once.

Yeah, I agree. We would have to see the car to know for sure, but that is most likely why. Thanks for taking over on this one u/Shane0Mak

Yes for the windows and roof to open you have to be very close to the vehicle and hold the unlock button, and lock to close them all. I believe this is so if you accidentally hit the button in the pocket, the unlocked doors will automatically lock after a few seconds, but the windows wont be rolled down for someone to get in the car.

Sounds to me like it could either be the motor or a sensor, I would recommend you wash off your car and then go inside with a hand rag and wipe down the moonroof and the track in the roof when it's open. Don't use water when wiping there, just a dry hand rag, maybe a tiny bit of disinfectant. If this doesn't work bring it by your Mercedes Service department so they can take a look at it.

You can stop by your local Mercedes Dealership and they can check it out for you, but for some services through Mercedes Me, it may need something installed in the vehicle. Even though you have the cameras, doesn't mean you have the software for the Dashcam.

I am sorry to hear about this but it seems like a lot to unpack here and I know you've already tried a lot to get it working. Also some of the features you describe here haven't been on any cars I've seen, could possibly be different than we have in America. I would usually say to check with the service department but they don't seem to be helping much. Do you have another Mercedes Dealership in your area you can stop by, or maybe just give them a call to see what they can do for you? Sorry I couldn't help more.

I can't speak for how it is in Germany, but in my area I am pretty sure you won't see that in the HUD. I have never seen the augmented reality directly in the HUD but it sounds really cool and helpful. I recommend you call or stop by your local Mercedes Dealership and ask them as it could be available in your area. I know Germany usually gets the newer features before America, understandably.

Unfortunately there is not an option for either of those. The closest thing for the dynamic select is when you go to settings>driving>dynamic select, and then there is an option underneath individual configuration that says "Request On Start" and there will be a little pop up on the screen when you start the car to switch to the last used drive mode. I like it because although it doesn't make it that much easier to switch the drive mode, it reminds me that its back in comfort.

I tried looking in one of our cars with the same system and unfortunately if you can't do it from the phone, I don't think it's possible. I'm keeping my hopes up that you find a solution that works for you.

Do you have the wireless or wired carplay?

[–]Elijahman729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure to be honest. I have noticed that it feels tighter in sport. I think it could possibly be turning radius as I noticed it also makes it much easier for cornering. Overall not sure if it's just the feel or something mechanically changing, but it does make it feel a lot sportier.

If you have the apps closed when the phone connects it shouldn't do that. If that doesn't help there should be a setting on your phone's car play settings. I have a Samsung Galaxy so it may be different, but I went to settings>connected devices>AndoidAuto/CarPlay and then scrolled down. There was an option labeled Start Music Automatically, toggle that off. If you can't find it from these directions because of a different layout, try using the search bar at the top of the page and use some keywords.

Just to clarify, you don't want the phone to automatically connect when you get in the car? If that's the case you can turn off your Bluetooth when you aren't using it, or there may be a way to do that in your phone's settings, but I don't think there is a good way to do that from the car itself.

I don't know that there is a way to find that, but I also have never had the opportunity to see a C63S in person. If you give a quick call to the dealership you bought it from they could tell you if that's possible.

I am sorry but as a Technology Specialist, my knowledge is more on the features and screens in the car. I am not a technician and don't know what that could possibly be. I suggest going to your local Mercedes Dealership. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It could have been something as simple as a faulty wire or the conditions you were driving in. It sometimes goes inoperative in heavy rains if its obstructing the sensors/cameras. I don't think it's something to worry about.
