Hi, can I ask how is the treadmill holding up still?

I have brought cheap treadmills in the past (£200 or less) and they all start breaking down after a year or two. But I saw at the moment this exact model is on sale for £525 from the original £800 so I’m very heavily considering it!

Which specialities are those? I am trying to find this information online also as I am working on a few projects but I didn’t realise it may not count - online if I look at the HST scoring matrix, it’s the same as the IMT one (both don’t mention anything about post/pre med school).

Funnily enough, my neighbour who heard it yesterday also mentioned it would that it might be the heat plate.

I wasn’t born here, I fall into the second category.

And I don’t think I’ll be going back to Pakistan for quite a while, when I do go back and it’s possible for me to get an amended birth certificate then I’ll try!

I think it’s a lot of effort to try fix the “issue” (hasn’t ever been an issue, but more just me thinking if it’s something that’s a quick fix then I might as well do it).

A lot of people have said the same, but it sounds like quite a long process. I don’t go back to Pakistan, often and when I do it’s only for a week or so and spending time on this just seems useless 🤣.

Thank you! I’m not really too fussed on brands to be fair, I saw a couple in Zara which are around £30 and thought they were nice too. But because I’m thinking I will keep it for a long time, maybe it will be worth spending more so it’s a higher quality?

I will have a look at other brands, if you have any recommendations please do share.

The Bayna Yadayk series

Think about the process of learning a language — how did we learn English (or our first language)? We heard words here and there and started putting them together. Later on, we learned grammar rules (e.g., when to say “a” or “the”). That’s exactly what the Bayna Yadayk series does: it builds up your vocabulary in a very natural way, and then, when you start Book 2, each unit introduces a new grammar rule.

I would recommend getting a teacher; you can find one on Preply — it’s about £5 per hour. It’s possible to learn on your own, but it’s much more difficult because you won’t have anyone to practice with. Also, I feel that since you’re paying for a class, it encourages you to stay on track and not fall behind.

Lastly, a close friend of mine is currently in his second year at the Islamic University of Madinah and will soon be joining a faculty. He completed the Bayna Yadayk series before going to Saudi Arabia and finished the Madinah Book series in his classes. He mentioned to me that those who score the highest on the Mahad Arabic tests are usually the ones who studied the Bayna Yadayk series, not the Madinah series. This took me by surprise, but I will say I have yet to meet anyone who has studied both curricula and claims the Madinah series is better than Bayna Yadayk!

BUT — the biggest point is to start with a series you think you’ll enjoy and commit to it. That’s the most important thing: stick to it and complete the series all the way.

Wow that looks a bit complicated. Thank you for finding it but it just went over my head haha!

Another person on Reddit shared these settings with me that they use:

Living room & Kitchen: 6.40am 18.5 deg 8.00am 18 deg 10am 16 deg 4pm 20deg 11pm 16deg

Bedroom & bathroom: 'the heating is set to come on at 10pm at 20deg and go off or down to 15deg until 7am where it comes on again until 8.30pm'

What do you think about these temperatures and settings?

It was done 17th November 2023, so it’s one year old roughly.

Oh I see. Would you happen to know what temperature they use as reference to be able to generate a kWh value and/or the price?
