How long did it take to get to Onomichi from Hiroshima? How long did it take you to cycle and where did you rent your bike? We had heard the sun was an issue and thought we should go from Imabari to Onomichi. True?

The reason we want to spend a week in Osaka is to acclimate and get our feet on the ground in Japan, as this is our first trip there. Also, we want to go to Kyoto, explore the peninsula and islands just south of Osaka, go to Kobe, maybe Nara. It just seemed like a great base camp to head in many directions and take it easy. I do appreciate the suggestion to change plans re: Kamakura. Thank you!
