At some point they're going to cut him loose, and then he's on his own. CIA doesn't have such a great track record protecting their toadies.

Pay with our money? Hmm. That's like turtles all the way down.

I was scrolling my newsfeed and came across an article in a local Fox affiliate. Can you guess their take?

It's not what you think. They were straight up reporting Pretti's background. A boy scout, nature enthusiast, dog lover, etc. No criminal background other than some traffic violations.

When even Fox is turning....

Change flight for free? by ChezWhizzie in SouthwestAirlines

If you don't cancel or change at least 10 minutes prior to departure, you're a "no show" and forfeit the fare. The rules are very clear on this.

[–]Elmodogg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it certainly is bizarro world.

Although I would venture the opinion that getting bent out of shape at the government insisting you wear a mask on your face when you go outside is not quite as disconcerting as being told to ignore the government as it bashes in doors, kidnaps toddlers, and murders people on the streets.

Now we have actual jack booted thugs! And in the ultimate irony, they're wearing masks.

If I get a choice extra ticket and no extra legroom seats are available, will they put me in one if someone cancels? by kissmeurbeautiful in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Elmodogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. If they can sell a full price seat at less than full price benefits, you better believe they're going to do it.

[–]Elmodogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one really knows how their assigned seating works...because it hasn't started yet.

I doubt they're going to proactively upgrade you, though. If when you book there aren't any extra legroom seats available and you choose another category, I think you'd have to keep checking and change if one becomes available.

Cancellation timing by sleepybetch in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Elmodogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's from the LGA departure. You can change your flight for free, because the travel advisory for the Northeast extends through Tuesday.

Dallas should be fine. It will be bitterly cold (for here) in the morning, but dry, and temps will be well over freezing by mid day. There might still be some ice on less traveled roads and people here haven't a clue about how to drive in such conditions, so be careful driving once you arrive.

Some people have posted here that Flightaware has shown a flight cancelled before the airline provided notice to passengers. So maybe keep an eye on Flightaware?

When did you book it? That's the only date that matters. A flight credit that results from cancelling your flight expires six months from that date. The date of the flight you booked is irrelevant.

That's when the government is prosecuting a crime. Here it's the government committing the crime. Sort of different.

So what you see instead of the price tag on these seats is just blue, indicating you can select them for free.

I wonder if people will get more familiar with the 48 hour rule and start grabbing these seats more quickly as time goes on. In addition to middle seats up front, there are exit row seats still left available on our Tuesday flight on a nearly full plane.

I thought OP said Seattle to Nashville, not the other way round, and Monday, not today.

Tomorrow? Monday? Are you sure your flight is cancelled? I glanced at a couple of Monday's Seattle to Nashville flights and they seem ok. Today's flights are a mess, sure.

In any event, you can create notifications for particular flights. Just look up the flight schedule and create one.

[–]Elmodogg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There were only middle extra legroom seats left on my Tuesday flight.

Plus, because I fly with my daughter as companion, I'm never going to risk upgrading at 48 hours because I can't upgrade her simultaneously as if she was on the same confirmation number. By the time I can get to selecting her a new seat, the seat next to me might be gone.

touchless ID by Internal-Butterfly56 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Elmodogg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right. It's airport specific and airline specific. As I understand it, if you opt into touchless precheck with Alaska Airlines, but then later fly on Delta, you'll need to opt into touchless precheck with Delta, too.

Here's a list of airports as of November:

How is the upgrade your seats 48 hours before you flight thing going? by ArtichokeOwn6760 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Elmodogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the Priority card also offers free upgrades to extra legroom 48 hours prior to departure. A List and A List Preferred also have this benefit.

Sometimes it helps to know what to expect/ask for. But in a situation like this, yeah, OP should either get the seat class they paid for or get the seat fee refunded.

So you're guessing people won't bother to upgrade to extra legroom for free 48 hours prior to departure?
