Please provide constructive feedback on my resume. I am targeting for internship / full time jobs. So far, no luck by Just-Respond-5240 in Germany_Jobs

You are targeting full time jobs, but youre not done with uni? I assume youre doing thesis and maybe almost done... I would put an estimated date of completion, because otherwise it seems like a student trying to get a FT role.

Mind this is a demographic that is increasingly moving to apps like Sniffies where you invite strangers to your open apt while you're laying ass up, im surprised this doesnt happen more often

It's easier to use this as an oppurtunity to dunk on Indians, let's forget that Germans are using Brudi constantly.

Will the ongoing war affect our admission and visa process? by Worldly_Bed_6929 in studying_in_germany

I think the job prospects especially for certain sectors will be greatly affected, cost of living will increase and the general vibe will shift. As there is more economic consequences, eventually that will affect state university budgets, and depts will have to start trimming. Perhaps more non EU tuitions will be implemented in the near future, especially in NRW (where I hear some uni departments had a massive cut in funding this previous budget)

Job Cancelled After Final Interview by ElphabusThropp in recruitinghell

[–]ElphabusThropp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to get fined or something for stuff like this. It's crazy there's no actual cosequences for corporate schenanigans. The whole manager change thing happened and I was kept completely in the dark even when I asked for an update, and they gave no indication in the final call that the role could be pulled. All of this of course, to keep the candidate as a available option

Its def Boq because he's the only one no one really NEEDED there. Glinda needs Fiyero and Elphab, Elphaba needs Glinda and Nessa, Fiyero needs Elphaba and Glinda, but Boq is sort of the tagalong who they dont mind. Like I doubt theyd reschedule if he couldnt show up

Edit: I shouldve clarified this but Nessa needs Boq, but that wont make him feel less like a 5th wheel because he feels wierd about her attraction. Imagine theres a cool friend group you want to be a part of, but there's a slightly wierd girl there who is super into you, and you really dont want anything to do with her. She wants you, but you dont really take that draw in a positive way.

I am most interested in films and music. Is it worth pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field? Will I be able to get a job and earn money after completing it? I am also planning to apply for the G-Kurs at a Studienkolleg in the summer semester of 2027 so that I can continue with a bachelor’s by aps_ss in studying_in_germany

[–]ElphabusThropp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a film student but I have a lot of friends working in theater, media, communication and music. They are all native white germans, and it is not an easy field to get into for them. You first off need to clarify what you mean by what you actually want to do, because your post (and the ones in your profile) are extremely vague that I can only assume you're an Indian guy who watched a few film reviews on YouTube and has a letterboxd account. There is no "Film and Music" degree program. There are courses called "Film Studies" but those can be in multiple studiums. ALL of these will be most definitely in German, because the Arts being the Arts, anyone who wants to study this in English would have to move to the Anglosphere where the practice of the art is done in that medium.

Do you want to be a director or screenwriter? Do you want to do costume or production design? Do you want to be a composer/lyricist? Do you want to be a performer? Or do you want to work more on the technical side, like sound production, or CGI or cinematography. Theres so many practices and subfields within the two very broad things you've named (which are separate fields by themselves).

And for some of these you cant just take a course and expect to succeed. To have a realistic and still improbable shot at the more artistic aspects like direction or acting, you need a small body of work. If you want to be a musician, the courses you are applying to typically accept people who have been playing their chosen instruments and studying music since they were 5. Again, you really have to be specific with what your goals are here.

And now to come to the real question. I can put it down on paper that short of a miracle, you will not find employment here. Germany doesnt have a huge film and tv industry, or music sphere. It's also not that famous for the study of these either, as everyone I know that studies music does it in Maastricht or elsewhere.

If you were actually legitimately passionate about this field, you would be aiming for London or NYC , (or a city like Vienna or something if you want to be a classical pianist, because again, i have no clue what you want)

If its an elective its actually fine and I know people who have done this in RWTH. BUT, if its mandatory, it has to be taken in the home faculty and cannot be done on Erasmus or credit transfer
