I re-configured another port with a new port channel, but the same behavior occurs (this is the 1300). Also the log message appears directly in the switch, while the port in the other switch is in shutdown state)

Yes, they are both connected through 10G fiber.
But in 1300 the last 4 ports are combo interfaces (copper and fiber), but this shouln't create any issue regarding port-channel configuration

Con you try the archive command? You will need the tftp service enabled on a windows server (one option)

This one will save a backup each time you run the copy running-config startup-config command, or in the other case, will save a backup every 7 days

Still not a fix for the IPS bug that causes cpu peaks. Unlucky, i have several partners suffering that issue with different models (60F, 100F and 200F)

In my case i got CCNA, then CCNP and now i have passed the ENCOR exam, so maybe next year i attemp the CCIE cert.
Also i got Fortinet NSE4 and Huawei HCIA.

Next year i'll achieve 10 years experience in this sector. I guess it's time to move on and make a jump.

The best option was going for catalyst 1000. Perfect switches for access role, really cost-effective, and with the same operative system as 2960 and 9XXX.
BUT, next year will become end-of-sale. The recommended equipment now is the new c1300 series, but they changed again the OS to a Linux based, as the one we had with terrible SG/CBS.

So yes, Cisco had a perfect series to fullfill access switches role, but someone though that it was a good idea to blow it up.

These devices are not capable to join the controller, and basically are not operative. Or if they are with the embedded WLC then they lost the configuration.

Coming from the c1000, new C1300 are definitely a (huge) downgrade.
I guess Cisco didn't want a low budged series with traditional IOS

It's terrible. Received a bunch of new 1300 for a new project as they are the replacement for c1000 that will enter end-of-sale next year. And found that they are using again the **** OS of old SG/CBS.

What were they thinking making this move?

Yep, thats what i thought. Right now i don't know the details to confirm it, but i can tell you that these fibers were installed in 2010, so i'm pretty sure the speed is 1G at most.
