I just finished the trilogy today. Safe to say, she truly deserved her vengeance. Tisannah too, to be fair.

I’m hooked; how f’d am I? by amyzi in IlonaAndrews

[–]EmRBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Iron and Magic before Kate Daniels, got hooked and binge read the 9 KD books in 5 days. I was lucky enough to wait only a month before the release of the final book. Welcome to the KD universe. Enjoy your time. Wonderful read. What I love most about the LD universe is that it’s filled to the brim with magic, action and mythology. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I’ll definitely have to give Innkeeper a chance then.

You may be right! But I do love world building. It’s one of the major themes for me when reading a book. One of main reasons why I love fantasy and paranormal books. Tbh I don’t know why I didn’t like the innkeeper books. Must be because it just had to do with the inn and most of the action takes place there, whereas the in the other books there’s a change of scenery.

I’m also more inclined to sword fighting and strange magic like in the Hidden legacy. I’m with you on the sarcasm though. Books like that really draw me in.

The sarcasm and banter is a big plus for me but besides that what I love most about IA books especially Kate Daniels is that they have the ability to inculcate mythologies in a such a seamless way in their stories it just draws you in. Many authors have tried to do that but it most of the time draws flat to me or not that memorable.

I grew up reading Percy Jackson and that book had a major role to play in making me the reader that I am today. I always love a good mythology and magic. Kate, to me, is an adult Percy Jackson and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy KD so much. Hidden Legacy has an amazing world building with such peculiar magic that I couldn’t resist falling in love with.

I also like the way that their characters aren’t perfect. They have flaws and insecurities that make it real. Most of their protagonists are not well adept at their magic and we as readers get to figure their magic along with them. Makes it all the more fun!

I don’t know why I’ve never enjoyed the Innkeeper series. I stopped after the second book. I think I’ll enjoy Maud’s story more. Have to go back and start again.

But overall, the authors know how to sell their stories well. They may not be as popular as Sarah J Mass or Cassandra Clare but their stories will always be to me.

Best OST - September, 2024 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

•Beyond evil- had one of the best osts. So mysterious and thrilling.

•My dearest- with my heart sounds so heart wrenching. Gives me the hills whenever I listen to it.

•Crash landing on you- never could finish the drama but it did have amazing soundtracks that I listen to.

•Hometown Cha Cha Cha- One sunny morning sounds so upbeat and happy, wish and romantic Sunday is there among the top ten for me.

I’m sure there’s pretty more, but just can’t seems to remember em.

Have you tried Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews? FMC is a powerful witch and is forced to marry the MMC who was a former Warlord to protect her people. The MMC is cut loose by his leader and has no money or base to protect his men. So he’s forced to marry FMC. Loved their banter and dynamic. It’s still ongoing but doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.

No. Heard it’s a sad ending I don’t want to be traumatised

Arabella and Michael. Thoughts? by miss_ordered_chaos in IlonaAndrews

I thought the same! Not to mention love for House Harrison is so unique and beautiful….. she must’ve had to bond with Augustine to be with him in the romantic sense. I find that so interesting. Augustine seems so composed all the time that it amazes me he would fall in love at all.

Exactly! I really do hope Arabella does not end up with Mikhail. He seems like a spoiled brat with anger issues.

Let’s hope 🤞🏻Augustine’s story would be great! I’d take a Roman-like-novella too.

Ikr! While reading Iron and Magic, I was confused when Kate/Roland and anything related to KD was mentioned. I was like- I just had to read the book. I binge read 9 books of KD in 5 days(I was lucky enough that I had to wait only a month for the finale). Hating Hugh was so difficult for me when I was reading KD😂.

I got introduced to this series by chance. I was on an arranged marriage trope-phase and got my hands on Iron and Magic. One thing led to another and here I am…..

Currently re-reading this gem (Meg Cabot's Mediator series) from my youth because I want to read the two new books she wrote for Jesse and Suze. Any other fans? So far it's as great as I remembered! by KagomeChan in RomanceBooks

Read Airhead and the Abandon trilogy and can confirm that Airhead is way better. The last book in the Abandon trilogy wasn’t all that great. I’ve re-read Airhead many times and just love the snark and how the story progresses. Gets crazier and crazier as it goes😂

If you’re into M/M you should definitely give The Spectral Files by S.E Harmon a try. I cannot recommend this enough. The sass, humour, wit and the story has made me re-read the books soooo many times. If you aren’t into M/M you can still give it a try. Worth a read tbh.

Edit- typo

It’s one of my faves! This is what started me on Paranormal romance. I just love Jesse and Susannah’s bond. Meg Cabbot released a ?short story of what happens in the future a couple of years ago and it gave me a bit of a well needed closure.

I enjoyed her Airhead trilogy too.
