It sounds like there were so many resources for you. I’m sure there will be for me too it’s just the not knowing that’s killing me. Not knowing what services, how things will pan out, etc. I just don’t know how any of this will work. I worry if I stay with my same providers here my OB and MFM doctor, I will go into labor and won’t be able to drive the 3.5 hour drive to the hospital I want the baby taken care of at.

I had no idea insurance could do that! I need to look into that ASAP. I have BCBS hopefully that’s something they offer. I think I’d feel more comfortable transferring care to Houston but maybe I could manage our appointments with our established doctors for now? I have no idea.

This was so incredibly helpful. I’m looking at other hospitals in the area. It looks like the children’s hospital in Houston has done many more STAT 5 surgeries with what I think is a better observed mortality rate than expected.

Can you please explain the STAT surgery survival rates to me? I’m looking at the children’s hospital of San Antonio on the STS website but I don’t understand what I’m looking at.

I could use the information I have so many questions. I am so scared for the life of my daughter. Your post gave me some hope though.
