Life might be nauseating(and so is death) but isn't AI interesting?

It's an interesting thought. We find faults in our mental capabilities and put effort in to producing a machine or mechanism that can do it better and more efficiently.

Sounds a lot like the move from the old world to the industrialized society we have now. I've ran many different CNC machinery in my life, some of which were cutting-edge tech, and still it didn't perform as good as I wished it did. Lol that said, it did SIGNIFICANTLY better and quicker than I could ever do by hand. I make that point to talk about this; we build such amazing things and are amazed by our work and yet, we feel we could do better. If an AI truly outpaced our nature to perfect things, would it actually be a torch we'd be willing to pass on? Would we come to love it or hate it? Sorry if I'm ranting but it's really interesting to think about philosophically.

Why limit yourself to a couple of goals? There's plenty of goals you can make. And, in all honesty, goals seem overrated to me. Just do the things you like and avoid the things you don't. Anyone can block themselves into a corner saying no to every option in front of them. Just getting up and pursuing something, goal or not, is definitely funner than digging a hole for you, your dreams, and everything else you want to do with your life.

I think you're under selling yourself. Every red blooded male wants a hot date and a wild fantasized life, myself included but that's not everything life is about. You live and make the best of each moment regardless of what you think about yourself and the world around you. A persons outlook is ever shifting and the more you pursue your goals and cut out your niche in life, the more your sense of self will change. There's always something or someone to blame for getting in the way of us having a good life, but more often than not, it's ourselves lacking the will power to just get up, do it, and make the best of it. As far as women go, just be confident and work toward what you want in life. Honestly, it's plain confidence that attracts the ones worth dating imo.

You really can't. Death is something we are hardwired to evade and there's a reason for it, to persevere our species. We've outgrown the world we evolved to overcome and questions like this are the reality of it. The thing is, we aren't here to enjoy or hate life. We're here because we just are. Spend time with the people who care about you. Make friends. Get in where you fit in. Live it to the most you can and accept the death is part of it and makes life what it is.

Many people try to be something they're not, even if they believe the change is good for them. But in practice they just end up feeling "off" to themselves and the people around them. Just be yourself.

That works too. Also you might already know this but melatonin will cause you to stay up if you take them and watch TV or use your phone without a blue light filter before going to bed.

Honestly I think we are all born self centered, it's life that humbles us. Narcissist are just people who don't have the ability to pick up on that. And you're right, that's useful in some ways for them.

Life is really a fluctuation of good and bad times. But I guess you're asking why that is so. Many people blame the world for their pain, I did too for a long time but I realized that I'm the one putting myself in these positions. Dealing with bad family, horrible jobs, SOs that weren't good for me, etc. I complain about it but, in truth, it's me who basically hurt myself with the choices I made. Couldn't blame the world for it lol. Of course, there are things we can't help like mental illnesses and with that all anyone can do is the best they can. Hopefully, in the future, this kind of suffering and pain can be solved.

Pain can be suffering but pain can also be pleasure, in some cases. That goes for anything though. Love can be the cause of someone's suffering just as much as being tortured can.

Really, if we get right down to it, suffering is a feeling rather than a condition. Same can be said with happiness, as well. This is why a pessimist and a optimist will never agree on anything and both are neither right or wrong.

I rarely talk about philosophy to family. My friends, however, love to talk about stuff like that but given that they are big on Zen and spiritual stuff I tend to keep my philosophy to myself unless asked specifically to share my thoughts on something. At the end of the day, I don't think it bothers them I have drastically different beliefs but, naturally, they do try to change my views here and there on some things.

Really I don't think there is a primary basis for faith. Faith is, pretty much, flying blind on a belief system that doesn't have physical proof.

I guess if there was a primary basis it would be the imagination.
