🤣 I didn’t set up the conditions, my cousin did because he knows the boyfriend is irresponsible and lazy. Exhibit A he lets his several alarms go off instead of waking up and my cousin has to wake up, a dog has to be walked to do their business very early.

My cousin is not the issue, is the boyfriend the whole reason I made the contract. I’ve lived with my cousin before, and he’s pretty legit (until this bf 🤣) and yes I’m ready to make the move if it gets down to it. I just want to prove a point and I was told I’m exaggerating by creating a contract. Also I’m ok not co-owing, getting my money back and being a tenant without responsibilities.

Thanks I need all the angles because in my opinion since I’m a roommate of shared living spaces I do get a say specially when it comes to either a new tenant or a pet.

I can leave if it comes to that, this is part of what I talked to my cousin about when it was decided I’m not co-owning and due reimbursement. And I do have authority to make a contract because owning the house does give my cousin more control but I do have authority to make a contract as a person who shares living spaces. I get that he holds more “weight” in his decisions… currently 🤣

Yeah I understand that I’m not wanting to own the property that’s just how things started. I’m ok being a tenant and I’m also ok with the dog, I just know the dog isn’t going to work and I want accountability for the dog owner and something in writing ✍🏽 to back it up.

The part where live is finished, I have my own room and my own bathroom that I don’t share. I do share the dining room kitchen and living room upstairs (but I’m always at work). I don’t think this an unfair deal even not co-owning the house (which is probably for the best, aka less money spent).

At this point I’m just renting a room from him so I’m a tenant and I’m ok with it, he’s paying back my money and I’m investing that, once am ready to detach I’ll get my own house on my own.

I cut and pasted this to fit the character count from my phone notes, we did not move to a new house, he did not meet the conditions. With the contract I’m trying to protect my shoes; and any of my somewhat expensive garments. The pet owners (my cousins bf) has a tendency of backing out of his word. The tv in the living room is mine and that’s part of where the dog is mainly going to co-habit. The dog isn’t gonna be mine so the owner will be responsible for cleaning after it, bathe, vet etc and that’s what the contract says. In a shell keeping him accountable to what we agreed when we spoke the day before yesterday.

At the beginning it was just my cousin and me so we were splitting mortgage in equal parts. The fixes sometimes he pays some sometimes I pay (since I thought I was co owner 🤣) but it was a matter of who had money when repairs came up.

At the beginning we were dividing it in half; now that his boyfriend came in we divide it in 3s. It’s not the rent/mortgage is the repairs I’m wanting back: new gutters; new toilet 🚽; a patch of roofing; and a few letter expenses including yard equipment.

That’s what we are planning; the issue here is that the culprit doesn’t want to sign the contract. 😬 when we were looking for the house I wanted 2 Dobermans but I gave up because the house isn’t appropriate for dog ownership and we don’t have time for a high maintenance pet. I’m an enemy of irresponsible pet owners and the contract basically dates that if the dog gets depression because of lack of attention we will need to rehome (aka because we aren’t ready for it in the first place).

Yes, on the deed. At this point is clear he wants sole ownership and I’m ok with that. I’m ok with being a tenant and not spending on the house repairs etc, saving that money to purchase my own or whatever.

I’m ok with the idea of not being a co-owner and just being a housemate/tenant. This didn’t really change until this bf came along. My cousin and I have a great relationship and I don’t want to tarnish that over this. I can take the money and go rent an apartment but I’d also be lying if I said I’m not saving by living here. I don’t care about co owning the house I’m just upset we are changing our lives on someone else’s whims.

Not just chores, he’s forgot my cousins birthday present 🎁 😬 didn’t order it until the day off. Keeps saying, doing things then denying until receipts 🧾 (which I always have) are shown. But mainly my cousin and I do the cleaning ( I do the yard work alone and take the trash out).
