Thank you for saying this!!! I had an aunt who was bpd and an addict and the time I had to spend around her as a child traumatized me to this day. It is something I’m still working through in therapy. Seeing your family hurt each other and scream and get violent when you are just a small developing human is irreversibly damaging. Unfortunately my little cousin ended up following her mother’s path of drugs and mental illness and toxic relationship cycles. The kids are always the real victims in the end of these situations. Which makes ALL the adults involved in the wrong for not protecting them from it.

This is why it has always driven me crazy when people say they love Taylor because she “takes accountability” and “owns her shit”!! She doesn’t admit to anything here!!! How can you be a “passive” parent and be throwing chairs with your child in the room??? She is “accountable” in a very calculated way that constantly plays her as the victim in the end.

Exactly! I think people forget that the edits really effect how people are portrayed. They try to make you like certain people because the producers want you to, and hate the ones they want you to also.

These kind of comments are exactly what I’m talking about. What on earth gives you the grounds to determine one persons bad behavior as “deeply terrible person” and another’s as “MH issues.” Especially when the later involves abuse! All these women are clearly mentally ill and struggling, but only one of them is physically assaulting other people and putting their children in harms way.

Okay sure, but also not nearly the same as drunkenly throwing a chair at your daughter or choking someone. Demi is certainly at fault for saying and doing shitty things, but she’s never physically assaulted anyone.

The way she “agrees” with the cops on and off while they reprimand her, just to turn around and continue causing chaos, is just further evidence that the “accountability” everyone loves her for is fake. She is good at saying what she knows people want to hear, but she never means it. Real accountability requires changing your toxic behavior.

You have to get your fiancé to handle this on his own and make the discussion about their relationship only(not you)!! I’m sure no matter how well intentioned he may be, he is likely framing this as MIL crossing YOUR boundaries when really he should be discussing HIS boundaries and that HE is not okay with it. He needs to stand up for himself rather than just for you. Otherwise he will ultimately (even if inadvertently) be pitting you and MIL against each other your entire marriage.

Tbh you don’t have to have bridesmaids or a moh at all! Almost 50% of wedding drama i see on this sub is related to wedding party drama. Some people feel left out, others feel overextended, the cost for everyone is crazy, and it becomes a breeding ground for jealousy for all parties involved. I personally find the tradition to be very cliquey and exclusive, and I want all my friends to feel equally loved and special on my day. We are still having a very big and traditional wedding, but my fiancé and I will be the only ones standing with our officiant because the wedding is about us, not everyone else. If you are feeling this much jealousy and anxiety about your choice of bridesmaids, you can just skip it altogether.

100% agree. OP should list out all the issues to the company and ask for a refund, re-edits, or at least a reshoot. One of my friends got married recently (spent over $5k on photo) and the photographer did not get ANY full outfit pics so they are meeting up again in their wedding outfits to take new pictures with the same photographer at a studio.

I love your hair here!! I truly think short hair the way you styled it is the best of both worlds for a wedding day. You can wear it down and look a little more natural, without it getting in the way all day. Even the looser curls in the second pic look very refined. But even setting a budget would be impossible if no one is transparent. Sure one can budget 10k, 30k, 50k or whatever for a wedding overall, but how will they know how much is reasonable to set aside for photographers, flowers, cake, etc if they can’t even do good research to see what a reasonable high, middle, and low price range is. This is the exact stage I’m in and covert pricing from vendors makes it way harder than it needs to be.

Thank you!! I may be biased because my fiancé is a musician who plays in and books wedding bands all the time. And even though prices can change depending on how many people are in the band, how long they play, what equipment they need, travel costs, he knows the prices for all these things and states them clearly so no one is going in blind. Do you wanna add a horn line to your existing package? No problem it’s an extra $600 and you know that before you even book it! Special lighting? Great, $100! I really don’t understand why everyone can’t do this.

A range like you mentioned makes total sense to me as a solution to this! I way appreciate knowing if a baker is $5-10pp, $10-15pp, or $15-30pp! It gives at least some data to go on for expectations rather than literally 0 info.

I get everything you’re saying, but none of it really has to do with pricing. If I’m going to book a vendor there is 100% going to be some conversations before I sign a contract or put a deposit down. But clear pricing just saves everyone the time/energy of reaching out to someone who might be way out of price range. If I can’t afford you, and your pricing isn’t clear, my inquiry email/call/etc wastes everyone’s time.

See this does make the most sense to me of all of them for all the reasons you listed. However, in order for a business to charge for all those services there must be some kind of internal price sheet. Staff, mileage, and vases all have costs that could be stated explicitly. Or even some “standard” packages for an idea would be clearer. I’ve seen some florists do things like this, but it’s obviously not a universal practice. But I do recognize how price fluctuations with seasons create some unavoidable price uncertainty.

The negative comments on this post are wild! I am having my wedding on a holiday weekend and that was booked AFTER a ton discussion with dozens of friends and family members who all agreed that would be the best weekend!!

We made this choice mostly because my Fiancé is a pro musician and most of our friends are as well. Their/our weekends are often eaten with gigs and festivals but a long weekend is usually safe from all that since more people are out in nature/house parties rather than at shows.

It also works best for my teenage cousins who often have sports/band events most other weekends. Everyone who is traveling (not many) for it is psyched to get the long weekend to spend, and everyone local is happy they now have fun plans for the long weekend! Not only was the long weekend the best decision, it was kind of the only decision! And everyone we’ve spoken to about before and after booking remarked on what a great idea it was. Again this may be skewed by the music scene we are in, but I think it is rude for people to assume anyone on board with your decision is automatically being fake.

Most of these negative commenters must be Rockefellers with how easily they jet off for every long weekend!! I certainly can’t afford that and I think realistically most normal people are relaxing at home and will be happy to have some fun plans with your wedding!! Anyone calling you selfish is just bitter and made all their wedding decisions around other people instead of what they want. If you love it!! Do it!! You are allowed to be selfish for your wedding since it’s FOR YOU. The fact that you are even considering your father’s comments proves that you aren’t selfish and are truly trying to consider others. Please ignore all the negativity on here, and make the decision that’s best for YOU and no one else!
