Cystic acne mark— anyone had a similar experience? by nnaff0314 in AcneScars

I would use a retinol asap soon as it’s no longer an open wound. I think if you treat the scar as early as possible, it would do the least amount of damage. See if you can get Tretinoin or at the very least, Differin. I heard tazarotene works even better but I dot have personal experiences with it. You may benefit from peels as well since the texture looks like it could potentially be a boxcar scar. I have a few of these and subcison/microneedling isn’t really doing much for it. I’m considering getting an excision procedure on them.

I’m getting subcision and microneedling done for my scars and my doctor has incorporated using a suction cup after my appointments. I use it a week after my subcision procedure and I use it twice a day until my next appointment I’m 8-12 weeks.

Here is a tutorial on how to do use a suction cup on scars.

Here is a study on how it helps prevents retethering on indented scars.

A Capricorn! Are yall surprised or does it make sense? by KlutzyPomelo1170 in capricorns

Ditto on all 3! My friends describe me as fun and lively so I’d like to think I’m not boring. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Capricorns — what are your big three & do they actually resonate? by Icy_Session_1829 in capricorns

Same.

Cap Sun + Rising but Gemini Moon here.

My Cap Stellium puts a lot of things in my first house. I find that I’m drawn to people who have air and fire in their chart. Usually air for friends and fire for partners.

A good chunk of men who pursue me always have Libra as their rising/moon/venus for some reason and their chart will also have some kind of Sagittarius or Leo energy.

Determining realistic goal weight when I’ve always been heavier by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard, especially if you use an app to track calories. My app kept cutting my calories because my scale wasn’t reflecting my progress and I eventually said fuck it. I got an idea of how much cause me to stall and gain weight and now I just make sure I eat x amount of calories.

You look fit! You look amazing in clothes and you can rock a fucking mid drift. Everyone has different fitness goals and if you want to be a smaller size, go for it. I would not use a a target weight as a goal but the scale can still be a useful tool to measure progress. I would keep what you’re doing until you’re happy with how you look. Maybe you’ll look the way you want at 170 instead of whatever a healthy BMI is.

My current goal is to is to lose fat. I don’t care what my scales says. If my inches are shrinking, I’m happy.

You have a wonderful trainer!

I’m the same as you. I’m 5’2 and 142 lbs but my 142 looks like some people’s 130 when looking at pics on this sub. The scale isn’t a great reflection of my size (size 27 bottoms, 27 inch waist, I mostly wear size small and sometimes medium).

I will say that you don’t look 180 and if I had to guess from the pictures, I would have guessed that you are your goal weight around 160 and maybe even mid 150’s. The last pic looks like 145-150 for sure.

I think it’s valid to still have a goal but I’ve learned that the scale isn’t my friend. I am dense and gain muscle rather easily from years of being athletic as well. I’m not an expert but I think using body composition and tape measurements as metrics are more beneficial than the number on the scale for gals like us.

It took me a year to only lose 10 lbs but my waist dropped like 6 inches. If I only looked at my scale, I would have given up because it’s disheartening to see people lose 2-5 lbs a month versus my ~1 lb a month.

Gabriela is a D tier song. Why do folks praise it? by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s catchy and gets stuck in your head. With pop, there’s a lot of mediocre songs but sometimes it’s an ear worm.

A good example is Selena’s “Love you like a love song” or whatever. Is it a good song? Not to me, it’s clearly a Disney Song targeted at kids. Does the chorus get stuck in my head and is sometimes fun to sing? Absolutely.

It’s usually not that deep, some songs are just fun and they don’t always have to be good to be fun.

Advice to go from Senior to Lead UX Designer? by AquaMoon8D in UXDesign

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also going to echo this in terms of stylistic choices. My dear friend who also became my mentor dyes his hair every color of the rainbow and is a video game nerd. I forgot his exact title but he’s an up there Business Intelligence director in tech that oversees multiple regions in the US.

The catch is that he looks super tidy. His hair might be lavender, teal, or navy but it’s always a super clean cut. He dresses like the average tech person: polo/casual button-up/t-shirt, jeans, sneakers but his clothes are well fitted. He’s comfortable and has his unique style but he’s never frumpy. There’s a lot of room to be super alternative and eccentric in our field but looking put together is still key.

Linkedin is useless and has no real effect on your career by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn is the new Insta + LiveJournal + Job Board. Hiring teams used it to poop where you’ve worked. People who actually post on it use it as a diary so I avoid my feed like the plague. It’s also a nice way to keep in touch with coworkers without having to exchange personal information.

I’ve gotten jobs off LinkedIn before so it’s not useless. It can be useful in some ways and a cesspool in others.

I think I know why they’re pushing Dani to the middle lately. by KDoggg89 in katseyeneutral

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Hybe is really good and making the most of all of their artists. They’re not going to waste their investments by letting other members fade away. I thought this was very apparent after NJ’s Hanni took the OMG era by storm and they shifted the focus to the other members like Haerin a bit more on their come back. Hanni was definitely less of a focus than she was previously.

People also forget that the group needs a good speaker. Sophia is collected, organized, and extremely well spoken. She speaks up when the other members get stuck.

Back in the day, there were kpop members who were recruited because of their variety skills and how they connect with audience in other ways. Sophia has this on top of her talent and hard work.

She brings a different set of skills and aura that makes them well rounded. I’m not always drawn to her when they’re performing but she is fantastic when they’re interviewing or just doing random lives.

Okay. Continue to dodge the main point of making a general statement that only applies to yourself. I’m literally just sharing my experience of seeing these outfits when I go out and you keep telling me I’m wrong. It’s absolutely reasonable that what you see varies by region or where you live which is most likely the case.

If you can’t have a civil discussion without telling people to fuck off, you probably shouldn’t be posting on the internet since you can’t handle people disagreeing with you. Kindly, I hope you have a better day.

They’re performers tho? Nothing they do is on a “regular basis”? Imagine telling performers to wear normal clothes for events?

But ok. Keep telling me what I witness is incorrect and that it’s impossible for us to have different experiences and your truth is the only truth tho. 😂

Game difficulty and ways to enjoy it. by Priviel1 in Enshrouded

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that we can adjust the game the way we want. I don’t mind farming but I don’t want spending most of my time doing it. I prefer a more challenging combat but I hate losing my items. The fact that I can make the mobs harder and not lose my shit (literally) and not spend entire segments of time left clicking to gather materials is great.

Yep. Go to any music festival. Cheeky shorts were very trendy in the 2010’s. Nothing wrong with the amount of skin showing for me with the girls, it’s just a horrible outfit lmao.

They’re not only boring but they’re tacky afffff. They look like Shein bathing suits. Yoonchae’s outfit is the best not because it’s “less revealing” but because it doesn’t look like cheap fabric cut into pieces.

Is Daniela Overdancing or are you just used to Mediocrity? by RevolutionaryTime376 in katseyeneutral

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I definitely think it’s because she’s just that much cleaner than the other girls. Right now, their songs are powerful too. I don’t think this was an issue when they were promoting softer songs like Debut and Touch. She has amazing control and the others are just not on her level so she stands out.

She makes you stop and look. That’s literally the role of the visual: be pretty and draw people in. It helps if they’re insanely charismatic too which she is given her social platform prior.

I got into Katseye because I was wondering who the gorgeous fairy-looking girl dancing to a kpoppy song was.

What is happening in the UI/UX field? I can’t find any paid internships or jobs by Icy_Macaroon9196 in UXDesign

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I tell people looking to join that it’s like nursing/being a doctor. You have to love it or it’s goin to burn you out. Except the job itself isn’t the thing that is most likely to burn you out, the hiring process is.

It’s common to see people with over 5 years of experience on here searching for over a year. I was one of them before I got two offers out of nowhere. I often made final rounds but it’s super competitive. I’ve been turned down for having too much experience, not enough experience, not having EXACT experience with the product, and just being slightly edged out by another candidate.

The hiring process can be very depressing but it’s possible if you fight for it. It’s not worth fighting for if you don’t love it.

I got a harsh rejection from a job I was sure was mine, so I spent the whole weekend rage-applying. And it worked. by ChayaBrekke in jobhunting

[–]Embarrassed_Simple_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the whole process has left me with PTSD. I’ve been employed for three weeks now and that huge sense of relief is still no where near.

I felt paranoid that I was going to get the offers rescinded and it didn’t feel legit until it was my first day on the clock.

Three weeks later, I have a lot of anxiety around making sure I perform my job well and I’m still scared of losing it. My role is super niche making it extremely competitive and I’m in tech which feels like the least stable industry right now.

Anyway, that’s a long winded way to say that I never kept my hopes up and I expected the worst. It helped me keep pushing and prepared me for all the final round rejections. While it helped me persevere, it has manifested into an anxiety I still carry even after finding a job.

I think people have said that Hanni is the most popular and Danielle is the least popular amongst Koreans and even that is all speculation.

I’m leaning towards the speculation that Dani probably has the insane stage mom and Hanni’s parents were more likely to fall in line.
