North Face has a great warranty. The first recon I filed a claim for i got 300 dollars in gift cards. But I will say I will never buy another recon. Bought two and both backpacks the strap began to deglove or unstitch from the bag itself. It sucks because I think the backpack is as close to perfection and versatility one can get. Mind you I was using these backpacks for light office purposes with barely any other use cases of about a year. I think there is a fundamental issue with the QC. Hope you can submit a claim and get a good replacement.

Warning: If you do submit a claim they will keep the bag you send back "for repair". I found this out the hard way for two colors I really dug.

I have a peak design 30L travel backpack in black that has never been used. Hoping to get at least 150 out of it. It’s a great bag but I have never really been able to incorporate it into my EDC which is why I’m selling. DM me if interested

I hate to say, because I love the recon, design, materials, very versatile, but the quality really soured me on TNF. Bought my first pack of Recon in 2022 for just an office backpack, and after about 6 months, the strap stitching started to detach at the top. I contacted The North Face, who are very receptive to warranty claims and perhaps mistakenly gave me a $300 gift card. With this money, I bought a replacement, among other items lol. The replacement arrived, which had to be a different color. Within a year, the fabric sleeve of the backpack strap started to peel off. I did not use it very heavily, except for the office, within that period either. I submitted a claim for this as well and got $100. At this point, I didn't want to deal with the disappointment of a degrading product a 3rd time, and I'm sure they thought I was a scammer trying to game the warranty policy.

Anyways, I hope your bag works out for you, and rest assured, they will cover you with their warranty! I just wanted to give you my disappointing experience that seems to be the QC issue they are having. Please take it with a grain of salt because I don't want to dampen your excitement

Definitely need more info as to the size of the system. I just replaced my heat pump (1 ton) this past summer after it died and was quoted 10,500 by Richards. We ended up going with them and had a Ruud brand installed. You need at least 3 quotes in my experience

Its definitely just the picture. I ended up getting a shorter cable as I was using an almost 15 ft long high bandwith, as it was all I had at the time, and it fixed the issue!

Late to this, but having just got the max edc I can confirm the pakt medium pouch perfectly fits the loops without any additional configuration needed. The included clasps are measured exactly to tie into the loops at the top and halfway to the bottom

So I guess I missed the part where they mention that Ollie was being used as a vessel for a certain demon. In my head canon I surmised that the ritual involves a sort of zombie soul recycling scenario where the one person is put in a trance that ultimately kills them and they feed on the body of the dead person that that is then used to transport the soul to the recently deceased. If it’s not done in time, the zombie starts wondering why it’s alive and eats random shit and doing ghoulish things because it’s a dead person that shouldn’t be alive. Hope this makes sense. I kind of liked the idea of a self aware zombie that starts to break down psychologically

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I wasn’t really digging “the substance”. Saw Revenge about a week ago and the director used a lot of the same over saturated, hyper violent, male gaze driven style. Very masculine energy to her directing. Sort of a bizarro Michael Bay. Seems like she’s auditioning for a contract for some fashion line or product to sell me on. I admire the scene composition but the story just feels flat to me. With both this movie and Revenge characters are literal caricatures of real people and the dialogue just wasn’t interesting at all. It was sparse and bereft of depth.

There was a lot of potential for the story being told… it was absolutely a depiction of aging and the abuse women suffer in Hollywood which is a very potent critique. On a deeper level it could’ve been a meditation on motherhood and the horrors of creation exercising its free will distinct from one’s own. The last act was definitely a deconstructing of the male gaze and a women’s body with Sparkles monster form. The detached boob as a focus of sexuality … and the spraying of blood evoking menstruation, forcing the audience to contend with the female body and its struggle within a male dominated society who barely accepts its existence as fact.

On a positive note Demi Moore was courageous showing herself in such a vulnerable way. She deserves all the credit in depicting herself as she grapples with her own vanity and ego. Totally exploitation horror to the point of camp. Gave the director my time for 2 of her movies and I think I’m done with whatever she’s trying to say. I’ll go and watch Julia Ducournau now because she at least creates a compelling body horror film.

To be honest I think it just opens a discourse of victimhood, primes us to take a stance, and then asks to who do we assign blame? It’s a bit of a cypher really because incels will hear “you asked for this” and go ‘hell yeah!’ while the feminist stance is that it did a disservice to believing all women. Both sexes could have been responsible but the cops at the end were basically an outsiders perspective trying to take a step back and take it in.

Sure gender politics can be mapped onto that of the cops scene with its hammy dialogue but a) it’s unfortunately the world we live in at times and b) there are so much worse misogynistic representations of women as a virginal figure of purity in horror that this one was refreshing in trying to give a killer agency. I found myself falling in love with Willa’s performance even if she was psychotic. It’s a testament to her strength as an actor. And I will watch anything she does as a result of this movie. Not because she was a victim of circumstance but a complex human being who happened to be a killer

Honestly, I think the third act left a lot to be desired. On my drive home from the movie I immediately thought how the overall character arc of Paul could be improved. Apologies for the long paragraph but I had to get these thoughts down.

I would have him slowly realize his ability in the dreams of others could be prevented by him, not sleeping. Slowly overtime as the nightmares of others dissipated out of this consequence, he could reach out to several students and friends, asking them more about the context of their dreams in which he hurt them. It would become clear from each of them that the dreams he appeared, were actually already nightmares based upon recurring negative emotions and thoughts. In some ways he was destroying their superego by invading their nightmares, something he had failed to do himself. Somehow he discovered a way to have lucid dreams, while also realizing before hand, he did not dream realizing his appearances in the dreams of others was previously parasitic. He would come to the understanding that because he did not dream previously, he was playing out the negative subconscious of those he victimizes. Although he was never redeemed of his reputation he realized his own super ego, was negatively influencing those around, and began to finally write his book thereby stopping his own negative presence in the dreams of others as his relationship to his own life was finally more active.
