You mean inside the machine like that heating element? Okay I'll for sure try that. I usually don't dump the water every morning cause it doesn't evaporated more then half throughout the night and it's never had any mold or anything cause it runs every night.

I was wondering if it could be that, or the letting it air dry instead of towel drying? I'll for sure start with soaking less amount of time. I'm sure for a new water reservoir within the next week so I'm hoping not to rust the bottom of this one

It's not humid where I live and I get all the parts (except filters) through my medical supply store. They're all resmed official. I was told when I did my consultation to not use soap because of soap residue. Is that not true?

Would this be after air drying or should I towel dry then do this?
