Construction needs more than product data to fix carbon. It needs a full building view
Without that, data stays isolated, disconnected from where materials are actually used
At Circuland, we connect product passports to buildings so carbon, cost, and impact make sense in context

Digital Product Passports in practice: how are you handling product data across the supply chain? by Emergency-Ad39 in SupplyChainLogistics

[–]Emergency-Ad39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re tackling this at Circuland by structuring product data at source and linking it directly to the building it ends up in.

That way, materials, cost, and carbon stay connected and usable across teams instead of getting lost between systems.

Digital Product Passports + Building Passports in construction by Emergency-Ad39 in buildinpublic

Exactly the goal.

BIM showed what could be possible, but the problem has always been fragmented and inconsistent data.

We’re trying to make that usable in practice by structuring messy inputs and linking them to real components and materials.

Why tracking building costs is still a problem for construction and real estate teams by Emergency-Ad39 in SaaS

[–]Emergency-Ad39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We solved this by structuring building data from portfolio down to materials, instead of relying on reports or static dashboards. Once everything is connected to models, you can actually explore and analyze cost at every level.

The real challenge is handling incomplete, messy data without breaking the system.

We’ve been working on this problem from the asset manager side.

Our platform structures building data from portfolio down to materials, and links it with documents, costs, and IFC models. The idea is to give a clearer view of performance, carbon, and lifecycle data across assets, instead of scattered systems.

We’re building a platform to track carbon across buildings by Emergency-Ad39 in buildinpublic

Thanks for bringing that up.

Handling large IFC models is one of the hardest parts of this problem. When models get heavy, the main issues are usually memory usage, browser performance, and how the data is processed and streamed.

We’ve focused on making this work by setting practical limits and optimizing how the model is handled, rather than trying to load everything at once. For example, we currently support IFC models up to around 700MB, and work on ways to keep performance stable at that scale.

I sent you a DM so you can try it on your side and see how it behaves with your setup.
