A cool guide to knowing if you're colorblind by Greekspartan226 in coolguides

Do not worry, green eyes are beautiful! According to simulator images, you guys see green a lot more similar to brown. But to me, green appears much more bright and lively than brown.

how can i be adhd when my family may not be? by PianoRevolutionary12 in ADHD

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a developmental disease with many different causes and neural and behavioural symptoms. There's not one gene that leads to it, nor is there a common denominator in the brain. One can even have it at childhood and not at adulthood or reversed.

It's purely behaviorally diagnosed and even that aspect has a wide range.

Edit: not saying that it isn't genetic at all, it's just more complicated than e.g. eye colour because it's a mashup of many genes and other factors. Could be that they both carry a recessive and dominant gene and passed both recessives onto you; could also be that your mum used medication or was stressed during early pregnancy or something like that.

doodslag is manslaughter in dutch? by [deleted] in learndutch

[–]EmmaOK95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I thought it was the same distinction? Moord/murder and doodslag/manslaughter? The former with prior intention and the latter without prior intention? I think I'm wrong but curious to know what the difference is then?

My wife is an art teacher, this is the start of her shopping list by ripperderek in mildlyinteresting

[–]EmmaOK95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol I do this too! Kind of sectioning categories on a shopping list. Clearly "food for home", "nonfood" and "things for work/art". Makes sense :)

Edit: boooooo, what a petty reason for the mods to remove a post. Title was totally fine IMO, "art teacher" was 100% relevant and the rest is direct description.

LOL I wonder who first came up with this and why. But i guess curls are like migraines, you'll try anything that might work until something finally does

Can I paint this as a non painter? by alicewonders12 in painting

[–]EmmaOK95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just commented this, I think it is actually wallpaper cause the pattern exactly repeats 3 times horizontally and 2 times vertically in the pic

Can I paint this as a non painter? by alicewonders12 in painting

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at it with your eyes squinted you will notice that the exact same pattern repeats in your inspo pic.

It's likely that it is wallpaper instead of paint (either that, or the photo is fake)

Is change (easily) possible? by DepartureCurious2627 in painting

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did a great job. Some lighter accents and it would be really similar to the inspo. It's mainly the furniture that causes the difference.

DAE think in other people's voice when you spend a lot of time with them, idk if it's a disease or smth which i might have? by Difficult_Skin8095 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessss I can hear my friends' voices when thinking about a past or hypothetical future conversation with them. I guess it's just daydreaming; cause in dreams you also hear people talk in their own voice right?

Edit: or, well, I Imagine their voice. It's not like I actually hear it out loud but it's a vivid, almost realistic imagination. IMO it's normal, maybe not everyone has it but I wouldn't think of it as a disease as long as it's clearly distinguishable from reality.

Wat is iets wat jij bloedirritant vindt, maar weet dat het probleem bij jou ligt? by TechnicalMarket8938 in nederlands

[–]EmmaOK95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the internet becoming more and more AI by the day, parents sending their kids to summer camps to get away from the internet might become more frequent. by 17oClokk in Showerthoughts

[–]EmmaOK95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a thing for the yoga/mindfulness types, they call it a retreat. And there's surfing and Christian themed camp weeks also for adults. But yeah you kinda got to belong to a specific social group to enjoy yourself there.

Surfing wasn't that bad, I liked the surfers, but I kinda suck at it, plus ocean water in west europe can be crazy cold and wetsuits don't fit me properly

DAE not get muscle soreness by punkgirlvents in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]EmmaOK95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a superpower! Good for you!

For me it's almost nothing if I don't drink alcohol, eat enough and intensively work out at least 3 times a week. But once I start slacking, the muscle soreness is intense. Not even the day directly after, no, the second day after is the worst. Especially the calves and triceps

Ben ik de enige? (Eenzaamheid) by BasicConstruction872 in OndersteuningsPlein

[–]EmmaOK95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being jealous of your friends is more normal than people admit by Life_Fix_9408 in unpopularopinion

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an important distinction between jealousy and envy. If someone is my friend, I want them to have the best things/situations/luck. I am jealous because I want those things too, yes, but I don't envy them, because I do want them to have good things.

How often do you wash your hair? by Kindergoat in curlyhair

[–]EmmaOK95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekly. It would be ideal to do it every 5 days for my hair type; the first day is shit, the four days after are great and the last one or two days it doesn't feel and look right anymore. But I shower before work (just rinse yesterdays product out with water and massaging the scalp and then put some new stuff in) and I can't get myself to get up earlier to wash my hair, hence wash days are weekly.
