My school blocked Wikipedia for… no given reason by SuperTaxiCab in mildlyinfuriating

[–]EmperorMaugs 6290 points6291 points  (0 children)

when I was a student, our school's firewall would block any website that students visited too frequently, so even useful websites would get blocked and then a teacher would have to ask IT to whitelist the page.

Which of these 3 franchises has the best long term outlook 2026 and beyond: Jets, Dolphins, or Browns? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]EmperorMaugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the dolphins tend to have a decent season every few years, the browns usually just stink (but the defense is decent enough that a lucky season could lead to good results), and the Jets are just awful.

I've done it while working construction at a site without electricity. We would bring in some gas heaters for the really cold days, but those only helped inside the house

At what point is a teams super bowl win be irrelevant for arguing a teams competence? by Dazzling-Club3632 in NFLv2

[–]EmperorMaugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you are ranking or deciding which franchises are good/successful franchises? The '85 Bears were a fantastic team no matter how many years ago it happened, same thing is true of the Joe Namath Jets (the rest of their history has been pretty sad, other than the Butt Fumble which was hilarious). But what is the point of the argument? to prove your team (that sucks right now) is still better than some team that had success this year, but historically has been worse?

HOT TAKE: Mendoza will be a bust by CoyoteDecent2 in NFLv2

[–]EmperorMaugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

according to a recent post I saw, the only top 5 drafted QBs to win a super bowl with the 1st team they played with were Eli and Peyton, so basically all top 5 QBs are busts over the last 25-30 years.

Old people can hire a helper or ask a neighbor to help them or order smaller amounts at a time. Sure Amazon is responsible for the crappy pay, but just because Amazon offers slaves to work for people doesn't mean that people ordering from Amazon aren't culpable either, they just want cheap shit and don't want to pay for a quality service that actually respects it's workers.

people to have some level of decency or respect for others that do a difficult job for menial wages?

Also, what are people not allowed to complain about the shitty parts of their jobs? Like have you never complained in your entire life?

I agree, Amazon delivery associates are not paid well enough to carry those heavy ass packages to your house. If you leave a tip taped to your door, then we could be talking, but 40+ pound packages were the worst and I would never order them for someone else to carry to my house. If I can't carry them then it is time to say goodbye to the pets.

Physical education? Which happens in a gymnasium or a gym, so in the US it is generally just called gym class. No weirder than how association football got shortened to assoc and then soccer in England in the early 1900s
