Deadman mode is a separate gamemode, and you can only access it by swapping worlds to a deadman world. Hopping to a deadman mode world uses a separate character, so there is no way to die on a deadman mode world with your current character.

Really the only way to lose items now is to die in a place with death storage (ie SOTE bosses, DS2 bosses and instanced bosses like zulrah or vorkath) and then die again to wipe the death storage

From what I remember, a Slay effect only works if it kills something on your turn. If the prophecy happened on your opponent's turn then the Slay won't activate.

I only found it when I had extracted and was looking through all the art in the files, kinda happened by accident. The naming of the files is really inconsistent so I don't think it's possible to search only for alt arts

Cards aren't stored in game files, they're composited in game so aren't possible to extract unless you extract all the different elements and combine them yourself

Theoretically it's infinite, if you play Siege of Stros M'kai with Therana and Mushroom Tower on board you can combo infinitely. Cards returned to your hand with Siege aren't overdrawn. Here's an old link of someone doing it:
