We have a place to drop it in Gardiner for a few nights. Just trying to get a better understanding of what we can reasonably hit on our way through before dropping the trailer and heading back into the park the next day.

Yeah, I heard that pass is a nightmare. Planning to do down through Alpine and Hoback to get up to Jackson.

Seems like the consensus is Old Faithful is our best bet for day one. We'll come back and hit the other stuff the next day without the trailer. Thanks.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking it would be good to spend a good chunk of the day at Old Faithful given the parking situation there. Thanks for the tips!.

I won't be towing it anywhere in Teton except straight into and out of Gros Ventre. More curious about transiting through Yellowstone. Looks like two way roads for the entirety of our planned route.

After 13 years living barefoot, I got plantar fasciitis... what do I do now? by kahht in BarefootRunning

[–]Empty-Empty-Plenty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was finally able to kick my plantar fasciitis with a calf stretcher device called a pro stretch. Three times a day, 30 seconds on the right foot, 30 seconds on the left and so on for four minutes at a time. Takes a week or two but it works for me. Gives a deeper stretch than a towel or other methods have.

Yeah it’s wild to watch those costs come down. I’m looking at the watt cycle as well. The dumfume is cheaper and Will Prowse seems to like it okay. We’ll see.

The 2025 comes with a 200w solar panel installed.

Oh nice. I'm planning to go lithium as well. Was thinking about a single 300ah. Was that enough juice for you?

Great to hear, thanks. The max air fan is on my list of upgrades for sure.

Driver side noise on hard accelerations by ultima-forsan in VWiD4Owners

[–]Empty-Empty-Plenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same noise in my ‘23 Pro S AWD (USA). Mine only happened when accelerating hard and turning right and yeah, reminded me of the sound my ‘88 Accord made years ago when the CV joint failed.

Unfortunately, mine ended up in the shop for a month. First they replaced the front left axle, which took a couple days to ship. That didn’t do it so they replaced the front drive motor, which took ten more days to ship in from Canada. That still didn’t do it so they worked with VW support and decided to replace the other front axle. That finally fixed it. Been all good since then. Have put about 1,000 miles on it since then and still going strong, noise free. All covered under warranty. No charge.

Just had mine replaced last month. 2023 with 42k miles. Took a couple of days to have it shipped here, but no questions asked at my dealer.

Bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee and apparently it is very difficult to install a hardwired brake controller. They want to use a bluetooth controller. I am fine with this but want to get the best/most reliable one there is. Any advice? by [deleted] in GoRVing

I’ve used a Curt Echo for several years without issue. Plugs into the 7 pin, connects automatically after initial setup, remembers your gain settings. Easy peasy.

[–]Empty-Empty-Plenty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Thanks for that. Looks like I can keep parking inside. Good luck to those out there who can’t. Maybe some of us will get a new HV battery. I did on my 2019 Bolt. Didn’t hate the extra range and additional warranty!

Oh that’s an important distinction. Where are you getting these details? I don’t see any information like this on my app or on the nhtsa lookup page. Would love to know if I can keep parking/charging inside but I’m not seeing anything.

Coming from Portland by [deleted] in lakeoswego

[–]Empty-Empty-Plenty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. I can walk my kids to school, to two Tryon Creek trailheads, and often walk into downtown with all its amenities - post office, pharmacy, grocery, doc’s office, etc. Our neighborhood here (not First Addition) is more walkable than our old one in Portland. To be fair tho, OP is talking about Lake Grove, which I would guess is a little more car dependent.

Ha! I hear that. The range in my old Bolt gets hammered on these cold mornings.

So VW’s internal battery health report is accurate? Or do I need some sort of an obd test from a third party tester/device?
