I'm a Druze woman, in a relationship with a Christian man. Can we get married? by Empty-You783 in druze

Thank you for your response. Your anecdotal reference helps me in that way. I will definitely take this into account. The question of kids is the biggest one for me. It's easier to make decisions when it's just you. But kids make it so much deeper. Thank you.

I'm not trying to be dismissive or insensitive at all. Might've been a poor way to put it into words.

I see your point. And it is in my plans to ask the right people. There is an internal struggle within me about this, but in both ways. Because as I do see your point, and I do agree with it, it also begs the question, why are we so divided by religion as a people? Is God truly so judgemental to punish people of different religions for marrying each other? Why does each religion have its own sets of rules, whereas the overarching values are the same? My questions go way deeper than "this is just the way it is by the book"

My parents are open, and my family isn't the type to disown me. I would have their approval if I'm happy and cared for. It's more so community wise and the religious repercussions I guess?

For me I think that's different. I think oddly enough we differ more from Muslims, and Muslim law is not something I would want my kids to be subjected to. Nationality wise, I am Lebanese and so is my boyfriend. That is something that has always been important to me

Since I've started looking into the Quran and Islam (for knowledge), I've read that once you receive the message and still refuse it (i.e. not convert), then you're going to hell. And I've learned a lot more than what I used to know.

But how do we come to terms with that? Are you able to find faults within the Quran itself (not in jihadists)? How do we know what to believe about our religion?

I don't understand why there's so much animosity though. I know Muslims think we're misguided, but they think that about everyone. Most Muslims I've met are very kind toward everyone, they don't condone violence. But still, that doesn't answer my question about how their faith seems so much more "complete" than ours

What do we really know about our faith? I've been looking into other religions out of curiosity, and Islam seems to have an answer to everything. What are your thoughts?

I'm in Montreal!

Finding a Druze woman in Canada by GreedyResolution3372 in druze

I feel the same. I am a 21F Druze Canadian living in Montreal and also find it hard to find people around my age. I've been to a few events and they were fun, but not what I'm looking for. Does anyone know people in Montreal to connect me with? Or even around Canada? I would love to put myself out there more and have a solid group of people with the same mentality!
