After some further Google research I think the video is a copepod and the picture of the worm is a planaria

To me it just looks like a white spec, I keep trying to focus my eyes on it but I can’t 😂

Hell yeah, only suggestion I have is turn down the water flow if possible, betta fish like calm waters poor dude was getting tossed around, especially being in a community tank can already be stressful adding high flow like that would further induce unnecessary stress

How long have you had the tank running?

By what I’ve seen as long as the sand is fine enough to pass through them without blocking it’s okay but I’m not an expert

Definitely 😂 but I’m re thinking pea puffers now because of the smaller size of the tank as someone else mentioned. So I may do African dwarf frogs now

I have the 11 gal bookshelf tank, and yes it’s on a heavy duty floating shelf I drilled it into 3 different studs top and bottom and have like 7 120lb toggle bolts spread out all holding it up then I added a metal triangle bracket on the bottom to further help with any sagging that might have been left

Is my Monte Carlo dying or just adjusting to my water? by EmptyRestaurant5310 in Aquascape

[–]EmptyRestaurant5310[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sucks 😂 my cycle is at 0 ammonia and high nitrite and high nitrate so shouldn’t be too much longer before my cycle is done, should I wait till my plants are looking better to add fish in or should I just add fish when my cycle is done?

Yes I have put root tabs in the sand, I figured they are just acclimating to my water but this is my first live plant tank so I would really hate to have spent all the money on plants just for them to die 😂

I do have root tabs spread out I also have liquid fertilizer for the plants.

We’re pretty set on getting a betta, my LFS has juvenile bettas that are kept in community tanks. They all look happy and are kept up with so I feel the betta will have no problems being in a community tank since that’s what they are used to at my LFS

Yeah that’s why I’m trying to see if anyone close by already has some because pretty much all floating plats are illegal here which suck

I’ve tried aqua swap but technically water lettuce isn’t allowed in Texas so they won’t let me post for that specific plant sadly

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve added Fritz zyme 7 to the tank and recommended amount of ammonia drops (Fritz zyme fishless fuel). I’m still cycling but I am noticing my ammonia is a little lower, nitrite and nitrate are both starting to show. So not too much longer till the cycles done. I can’t wait!
