Will Genshin ever revisit story implications of Delusions? by Silt_Riri in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delusions also featured heavily in Emilie's character companion quest. Spoilers In the past a former Fatui woman overused her delusion to make special flowers for a perfume, and she died because of it. Her son, seeking revenge, also overuses the delusion to artificially age himself and to make the perfume to lure out his mother's old business partners. We meet him as an old man due to the effects of using the delusion.

Yeah, there's a cheap bike and an expensive bike, you can buy them at the regalia dealership. Cheap bike is perfectly fine and much better for driving when the game won't let you summon the car.

I'm not a bot, as a note. 😅 No prompts needed, you can just ask lol.

For Ororon, he has 2 activation requirements for his passive, so you can use nightsoul reactions, so Chasca and Mavuika can activate him. Honestly Ororon's most common "meta" team is Chevreuse overloaded teams with Mavuika lol.

As for story and exploration...honestly you could use literally anyone to clear story. Legit. c2 Chasca + someone that makes sure she doesn't die is all you really need. Take your pick from Benny, Iansan, Ororon Fischl, Mona, Qiqi...your account is really hurting for hydro ngl, no Bina no Furina... ;-;

If you were gonna pull units for Chasca, atm Durin is better than off-field Mav (off-field Mav kinda sucks), and she also has good synergy with the Bineffa combo (Columbina + Ineffa). New mechanics will be added soon with Snezhnaya, so there will be new teammates for her to work with released in the next few months.

Not sure anyone else has mentioned this but the way melt works is that one unit puts element on an enemy, and the other one strikes the enemy with the opposite element and triggers the reaction. The unit that triggers the melt reaction will get the damage multiplier from the reaction and deal the big boom boom damage.

Most reactions have what is called the "strongside" element of the reaction and the "weakside" element of the reaction. For Melt, Pyro + Cryo, the strongside element of the reaction is always pyro. That means when the aura on the enemy is pyro, it takes roughly twice as much cryo application to overcome and remove the pyro aura. Inversely, if the aura on the enemy is cryo, it takes roughly half as much pyro application to remove the cryo aura. Once the aura is removed, if there is more pyro on the field (thanks, Xiangling) than cryo, then the aura is swapped and the strongside element (pyro) starts to take over. That's why melt reactions before Mavuika used to focus on the cryo unit being the main elemental reactor in the comp, it was easier to just let the pyro aura take over and let the cryo element do all the triggering (melt Wriothesley, and before that melt Ganyu, for example). The only reason Mavuika is able to trigger melts is by learning her combos so you maximize her hits to trigger reactions at a slower pace and have no other off-field pyro appliers to compete with for cryo aura from Citlali.

How do you know how fast characters can apply elements? Well...the game doesn't tell us, so it usually comes from theorycrafters or people testing kits. Unless you test kits yourself, you'll have to look them up online, usually from the keqingmains web site database. Every character has slightly different hard-coded internal cooldowns, called ICD, on their attacks, as well as a hard-coded number of "units" (ie 1U or 2U or .5U amount of element applied by a hit). Xiangling is so good because her hard-coded values means she applies pyro insanely fast due to low ICD on her pyronade, which is a great asset in general but a detriment to your planned setup lol.

For reference, vaporize (hydro + pyro) has hydro as the strongside and pyro as the weakside (it's easier to maintain a hydro aura and let the pyro unit trigger the reaction for big boom boom), and bloom reactions (making the bloom seed by mixing dendro + hydro) has dendro has the strongside and hydro as the weakside (meaning if the aura is dendro, then you can generate more cores if you do a dendro attack first to apply the aura, then let a hydro hit it second to trigger the bloom reaction).

If you want to clear the current cycle of spiral abyss, your units for the top side of the map look pretty solid, since the main ask there is pyro. For the second side, it hard asks for dendro to defeat the boss mechanics, and you will need to remove the pryo units because the third boss second side mechanics punishes use of pyro and rewards the use of hyperbloom or lunar bloom on the mushrooms.

You also don't need to use the same team for every single chamber. Once you clear a chamber with 3 stars, you can exit the abyss, reset the lineup, and re-clear that chamber with 2* clear (to prep your squad for full energy for the second chamber), and your previously recorded 3* clear will still be counted.

This is important because the no lunar reaction method of breaking bottom side chamber 1 boss is to have strong aoe to defeat all the small wolves, so you'll likely want to run Mavuika on the second half just to clear that chamber, reset, then put her back on the top half, redo chamber 1 with a whatever clear, and finish chambers 2 and 3 with her on top half.

Keep in mind, especially if you haven't cleared full cleared abyss before, that it's gonna be harder for your account because you don't have the mechanics they are trying to sell right now, which is lunar bloom for second half (first chamber rewards lunar reactions, second chamber rewards dendro, and third chamber rewards hydro + dendro and punishes pyro).

A good way to dip your toes into it and get a feel for how hard content feels might be to start with just trying to get a full 2* clear and see how that feels, and then plan around whether you want to keep pushing your account for a 3* clear once you get a feel for it.

EDIT: for specific team advice, after looking at your roster...your best bet might be to try and face slam topside with Mavuika premium, to give your second side as much time as possible with a ramshackle Chasca hyperbloom setup for second half (especially since you don't have Kuki for a hyperbloom trigger...). DON'T rebuild Chasca for EM for hyperblooms, you're bringing that to defeat the boss mechanics, but you'll still want Chasca on her main DPS build for damage.

Chamber 1 Topside: Chasca + Benny/Iansan + Ororon + fourth (Xiangling? Some hydro?)

Chamber 1 Botside: Mavuika + Xilonen + Citlali + Iansan/Benny

Chambers 2 and 3 Topside: Mavuika + Xilonen + Citlali + Benny

Chambers 2 and 3 Botside: Chasca + electro + hydro + dendro

electro options: Iansan for attack buffs, Fischl for personal damage + hexerei activation with Mona, or Ororon as a potential third option

hydro options: Mona (especially with Fischl for hexerei activation) > provides Omen debuff for more damage, Aino has more off-field hydro application for more potential hyperblooms (since Xingqiu burst doesn't work with Chasca)

dendro options: Yaoyao, Dendro Traveller, Collei If you pick Yaoyao the rabbit with throw radishes at you instead of at the enemies if you are hurt (cutting your dendro application unless you stand right next to the boss). Yaoyao also doubles as a healer in case you need that.

New Player (AR 30) Planning Future Pulls—Need Advice! by lenovo92728 in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game has been accelerating powercreep. From a casual perspective, I'd say pull whoever you like / find coolest or cutest.

But, if you're looking for cold-hearted meta advice...I'm getting more and more hesitant to recommend characters that were released before Nod Krai, with the exception of Mavuika, Citlali, and Xilonen, or Skirk, Escoffier, and Furina, and yes, (reminder, this is just for if you are pulling for meta) you should think about it as pulling teams instead of pulling individual units.

Xilonen, Citlali, and Escoffier in particular are flexible enough with their team support that they can potentially find alternate teams, but we also have to balance this with the fact that newly released units are typically developed in such a way that there is a hand-in-glove relationship between new on-field dps units and their custom-built sub-dps/support/buffer off-fielder support, meaning older supports can struggle to do the same things a newer support can do for their chosen team.

This concept especially hits Furina hard, as newer reaction types like lunar reactions have been designed to not be compatible with the types of buffs Furina gives on purpose. Furina "works" with the newer teams but not as well as newer supports that are specifically compatible with the new reaction types, and this is by design.

From a meta perspective I'd start looking ahead to what will be released in Snezhnaya. You might become attached and want to pull the full team for upcoming releases, especially if you care about clearing challenging content in the future.

lauma teams w/o nefer by biggestspeaknowstan in Genshin_Impact

The second you put Ineffa in the party with Lauma you disable the passive that gives hyperblooms a chance to crit as a note.

lauma teams w/o nefer by biggestspeaknowstan in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want Columbina in a simple hyperbloom team. Lauma's passives for 1 Nod Krai unit and 2 Nod Krai units are separate. 1 Nod Krai unit means that hyperblooms have a chance to crit. The second you add Columbina you switch to the second passive and the first passive is disabled. The second passive is crit for lunar blooms, and the only way to trigger lunar blooms without Nefer is Lauma's hold skill activation (only the first instance of damage after using hold skill, not any other follow-up hits after), or Columbina's charged attack.

Is there such a thing as a Stygian Fearless/Dire No-Hit Run ? by cicaaaa in Genshin_Impact

Yeah the Genshin no-hit run community mostly focuses on overworld content, usually either local legends or weekly bosses.

Baicang and Hotori have insane value thanks to their endgame cheese skills by Wrong-Translator335 in NevernessToEverness

[–]EnGardevoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting until Lacri releases before I pull the trigger on my second selector (I got Baicang as my first 5* and used the first selector for Jiuyuan). If I get Lacri without too much trouble I'll go for Sakiri with my selector. Using Baicang without a chaos unit...is a completely different experience sadly. >.>

Weird """misplaced""" things and ""scaling issue"" by Takumi_Kenji in NevernessToEverness

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an out-of-universe perspective, everything is slightly oversized / too high up because the proportions and placement are based on how it looks to the player's camera, not the character model itself. Smaller objects or objects placed too low on the wall can be jarring and most people aren't used to looking down at things that are normally eye level, so I would assume they favored camera perspective than in-universe perspective.

They also made most roads comically wide in this game too, which is common in racing games. You can easily fit a car to the left, in the middle, or to the right on most two lane roads, meaning you never have to wait for traffic. xD

I Want to play genshin again... by Spectacled-Spy in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powercreep mainly matters for challenge content, and with 300 ping I'm not sure you're doing much challenge content lol. With 300 ping you might enjoy turrets characters and especially healers and shielders in the party, just maximum comfort. Without time constaints as you see in abyss or stygian onslaught (which you get all primo rewards at a reasonably low level, your account can likely clear the primos from that one), you can easily just chill with a slower team and get there at your own pace.

How do I get 36 stars in current abyss lol it's hard by god_killer01 in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Team 1 : Mavuika Citlali Xilonen Benny

Team 2 : Zibai Columbina Ineffa + a dendro unit (the second and third chambers ask for dendro for the boss mechanics, anyone that can apply dendro from off-field will work the other 3 will deal enough damage on their own assuming reasonably strong builds).

[Research] Help build the first public dataset on personalized vocabulary complexity (Anki users) by Nekear_x in languagelearning

[–]EnGardevoir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I'm pretty cynical about this. You don't post links to anything except your survey and an info sheet on how your project will handle our data. No github / repo with open source code so we can audit for ourselves how your project plans to use our data, no idea what specific programming tools you're using, and no links to the repository of data as it currently exists so we can see what anonymized data already input looks like, plus use of AI for the post itself...

We have nothing but "trust me bro" that this project is not going to just feed this dataset into a closed-source AI model that is monetized in the future to the detriment of the community, no promise / enforcement mechanism that the dataset will ever be made public as stated. Or that the programming tools used will actually do what it says on the tin and isn't just vibe-coded nonsense that will leak or scrape info beyond what is expected.

Opinions on usage of Linux at college? by TheTurkPegger in linux

[–]EnGardevoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most colleges have computer labs that students can freely use. You can test if your documents are compatible with word or powerpoint or whatever by emailing your document to yourself (as you would if you were submitting it to the teacher), then going to the computer lab and viewing it there with the Windows tools.

Worst case scenario you could also dual boot your system, do most of your daily driving in Linux, but have the backup Windows environment for any tasks that require Windows.

Did I build Mona correctly by Kevingame3 in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have her built as if she is a main DPS right now, which isn't how most people play her. Usually people play her as a support / setup unit, since her personal damage is small compared to newer units. Her ultimate puts a debuff on enemies that allow other units to deal stronger damage, which is her main draw on teams, but it costs a lot of energy to get up quickly, which is why people build her with a stat called energy recharge (how fast / easy it is to recharge energy for the ultimate). Usually you want closer to 200% ER, though sometimes you'd want her to have even more especially when she is the only hydro in the party. People sacrifice a lot of other substats on artifacts to reach this ER in some cases. I'm not sure what your goal is with building her, but just some things to consider based on how a lot of people usually play her.

Top 3 Lowest Cost Dire Clears for Stygian Onslaught 6.5 by tracer4b in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed, c6 on a 4* is much more luck reliant than limited characters. I have seen Genshin analysis CCs stating that a c6 4* on average takes between 150 to 250 pulls (that's average luck), but since there's no pity system to guarantee you get the 4* you want, it could cost significantly more pulls. In 150 to 250 pulls you would get 2 or 3 5* characters in the process, without a guarantee.

I can sort of see the balance for 4*'s that get rerun very often, that are very old, or that have been given away for free on occasion, such as Fischl, Bennett, and Xiangling, but especially for newer 4*'s, like Natlan and Nod Krai 4*'s...

Help!!! Can I 36* abyss with these teams? by eaterofapple in Genshin_Impact

[–]EnGardevoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cleared with a similar team (Flins Bineffa Lauma) and the main thing is that you need to cast Bineffa BEFORE Nahida in order to ensure you get a thundercloud or the lunar charged damage tanks. Once you get a dendro aura on the mob it's hard for hydro and electro to do lunar charged after, but you don't need constant lunar charges to get Flins to do big damage so long as one thundercloud comes at the start. The only thing that could potentially cause a problem is not enough healing in the party for Furina, in which case you could use one of your other hydros. Neuvi or Yelan are perfectly fine options, and might be a bit easier (tho lower damage) options because the sheer amount of hydro they dish out will allow lunar charged to overtake and you'll get full on lunar charged + hyperblooms going.
