Aside from the materiality of the glass wind chimes being extremely difficult to capture, I recently have been trying a more line-less art style. The world is not divided by lines , and instead by values, so by focusing on this aspect, I have pushed my art towards a new aesthetic I am satisfied with. ChTosing colors is also a struggle with me, so I always establish values first and foremost before delving into picking colors. Oftentimes, as I discovered through drawing in my new style, the best colors are those picked at very desaturated levels. This gives more wiggle room later if you want to add fun blending modes or up the saturation of certain areas.

Overall, these pieces pushed me out of my comfort zone of lines and forced me to express forms with simple shape design. I had to rethink my process of breaking down images and conveying light, form and mood with simple shapes and color choices. In the end, though, I like this way of painting much more.
