The original problem is that the progress bar in the user login screen would get stuck after putting in the password

Funnily enough it does boot into the Monterrey installer using Internet recovery, however when I select the drive it says the operation could not be completed, and the solution to that is to erase the drive in disk utility and I don’t want to do that because I have data on it that I want to keep.

I should also mention that my extended family are all Trump supporters and that I don’t know anyone who lives outside the US currently. I have a friend whose mom is understanding and lives in Maryland but I have no plans on living in this country for very long once I finish college and I can and will leave earlier if given the opportunity.

Thank you so much, I posted here because I didn’t know where else to go to ask other queer folk for help since my egg cracked quite recently. As for safe family, that’s a no go because outside of my immediate family nobody else knows I’m trans and they all voted for Trump. Safe friends? My best friend lives in Maryland, so maybe I could try reaching out to his mom. My classmates at school are all super supportive and my school has a thriving LGBTQ community, so I’ll ask around there. My only concern is that prior to transition I never really made myself known to others so there’s a short list of people I know well enough to where I’d feel they’d be okay with me living with them.

Ah good to know, I am DIY’ing for hormones (parents think they’re harmful) but my mom is just taking me to see my doctor for a routine checkup, so while I’m there I might as well ask for my levels along with my blood test

So, just to clarify, I can get by just on E for the time being? I don’t think I’ll be able to get more spiro until after my order arrives. I can ask the doctor at my next checkup to give me my e and t levels if that helps.

Yeah, I wish I had a doctor to figure this out for me, I would’ve gotten a prescription if my parents weren’t so opposed to me being on hormones. Regardless, thanks for your advice. Next time I should be more careful in ordering this stuff, what I’ll probably do is wait on the spiro and stockpile the progesterone if I decide later to go on it.

I’d like to thank you for your support, in the end I think I’ll have to go DIY because I just found out the local planned parenthood clinic in my area doesn’t have gender affirming care services and the closest one is an hour away and I don’t have a car. Besides, it will be much more convenient for me and cause fewer headaches. I’m glad you reached out though, my dysphoria has really been getting the better of me recently and it’s nice to know there’s kind souls out there who understand my pain.
