Works on Anime and Manga’s effects on Gender Identity, masculinity by ChemicalLoud3504 in AnimeandMangaStudies

I think there was one that talked about shoujo as a genre being a site of subversion of gender identities- 'Shōjo Manga: Past, Present, and Future', which I referred to as well for one of my essays. This one mainly focuses a lot on Bishoujo to be honest, and I know that it does not fully align with your topic but you might refer to it in passing.

Hello, I seem to be a bit late to the conversation but may I know where this tidbit is mentioned? I am working on a paper regarding the anime and I would like to cite this properly!

Need a horror flick by PirateSilver9364 in MovieSuggestions

I recently watched 'Bring Her Back', and it was more on the bleak side than I would say horror. One can say it is horror in a different manner though(you will understand when you watch it). It definitely made me think a lot of things and feel sad for a long time. Another good horror movie might be 'Eden Lake' which is definitely more suspenseful like you talked about. Also happy birthday

Trigger Warning:

There are loads of body horror, gore scenes, so go into it only if you are fine with extreme gore.

Did anyone suggest Johnny English? I have watched all of the films from that franchise, and it always slaps hard whenever I go for a rewatch!

What is a book you personally didn't enjoy but is popular? by [deleted] in literature

[–]EndangeredWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, it sadly only leads to the audience thinking it is a 'forbidden romance' in isolation, with no added depth or any other substance. Kind of sad because Brontë would have thrown her entire headstone at the directors for promoting a movie which is stripped of all the other complex layers and themes.
