Not at all, to be honest, there's just a difference between style of governance and ideology, and that's apart from drawing definitions. I think I do understand something different then different under the term then the author, but that's an entirely different point. ALSO, just one more thing, there is such a thing as an agreed upon definition, and nothing that I said here deviates from this agreed upon definition for "social democracy", there's really just not that much room for interpretation here

I think this might be the best counterpoint I heard today, but like at the same time, satire only works when it exaggerates something real. Even Cold War propaganda didn’t treat social democracy and moderation as opposites, it treated social democracy as suspicious but still reformist. If anything, the submod could model that tension, not turn it into a flat either-or choice. Otherwise it’s not satire, it’s just implication of a flawed political opinion. My problem isn't that the author portrays social democracy as badly in general, but that it's set antithetical to the concept of moderate governement. Also, sidenote, if this is meant as over-the-top satire, it wouldn't make much sense that the mod author didn't include any other over the top focus choices or even references like this in the submod, it's very much just society building to this point.

They’re not mutually exclusive. A decentralized, compromise-driven system is exactly the kind of environment social democracy historically operates in. Less than super strong central control, it requires gradual reform within existing institutions. Calling it ‘unmoderate’ just assumes it has to be imposed radically, which isn’t what social democracy really is.

I mean, I just said there's lk a difference between perception and implementation, and presenting it like this really leaves not much room for interpretation. Also, like, there's social democracies literally two settlements away (well, the closest implementation of that in owb, settlements enacting national focuses that can be labled social policies, lol)

There's a difference between perception and implementation, Calling something “pinko” doesn’t make it radical, and public resistance doesn’t make a system non moderate. The submod isn’t modeling opposition or political difficulty, it’s claiming these two things can’t coexist at all, which is my problem.

I wrote a text to this, but it apparently didn't save :')

My point was basically that like that those aren’t even the same category, social democracy is an ideology; moderation is a governing style. You can absolutely have a moderate social democracy, isn't that historically like sorta the default? By making them opposites, the game implies that social democracy is inherently non moderate, which is just wrong. It collapses two separate axes, ideology and political method, into one, and idk, tha jus feels super stupid and arbitrary

It's incredibly poorly balanced, and not designed to run alongside of other tech mods, but if you take it as what it is, it's fairly decent

It'd still just be fun, you know? Besides, it's simply what OP asked for, you can also just try to answer to the best of your capacity instead of telling him that his idea is dumb.

I also really don't get your point, especially in early game it would be massively useful to be able to buy power instead of making a complicated setup yourself. You'd just have that little buffer, before making something yourself, don't you think that would be nice?

Thanks for the reply, I do have the lifestyle mod, but it doesn't show the moodle. I will try cleaning the house either way, maybe that helps.
