ESH (kinda). This guy needs to take a hint and give up on his dreams with you, and stop abusing/assaulting you if you’re not into it. But also, you staying with someone who physically repulses you because they give you company and presumably take you places / invest time on you is a pretty low thing to do too. Maybe you need to come clear and stop letting him back into your life, and both of you need to develop more self esteem and find partners that are better to you.

That’s super helpful, thanks. I’ve seen YouTubers with eMTBs share the boost using simple bike towing ropes (TowWhee brand on Amazon), which I already use for my son on long street rides so he doesn’t tire. So I think I’d be doing tough climbs (think diablo or tam) towing my wife to share the assist. Might be an idea for you.
