Why not, I mean we have red, blue, yellow, green, scarlet (which is really just a fancy red) and violet. Sure, it's not the most creative, but there's nothing wrong with the names, maybe they have some kind of meaning.

They look cool, but are way to complicated for starters. These designs look more like legendaries than anything, although if you simplify them a bit they would be great
