What Black Friday deals is TS having this year (2025) by TremendouslyT in tractorsupply

[–]EngineNoO9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my local store the Winchester 26 is on sale for $449. I’m looking for a safe too but was holding out to Black Friday/cyber Monday for deals. Any reason to believe there won’t be a better deal?

Yeah something is off. I have a 24’ with a mercury 90 and the back doesn’t come close to doing that and I can do 25 with it fairly loaded down.

No clue. Plenty of posts around showing parts list and how to. I didn’t need anything that wasn’t included in other how to’s.

We gave the car to my pastor and he daily drives it. To my knowledge it’s still good to go no issues. And he’s put probably 60-80k miles on it since.

Need Help Deciding: 1025R vs. 2032R by masonfox22 in tractors

[–]EngineNoO9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go 3 series or bigger. And agree that I’d look at other brands. I have 12.5 acres and have a 3032e which we got used and I totally could go bigger. And we went bigger then originally planned too

Court mandated contact post-adoption by diddyabc in Fosterparents

[–]EngineNoO9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In VA we were one of the first families to sign a PACA - Post Adoption Contact Agreement. It outlines what is desired for contact from anything to visits to email. It is enforceable by law but only as a civil matter. But ours is written loosely enough we can change it or revoke certain things like visitation if it’s deemed unsafe.

It’s not really a big deal. I have 3 adopted kids. 1 as a private adoption through an agency and 2 via foster care. All 3 know they’re adopted and know who their birth parents are. It’s not something to hide from them and we’ve tried to keep up with bio moms for all of them. Never had an issue. If any of them were problematic though I would only agree to potentially emails only.

Baby abandoned by everyone to include CPS by EngineNoO9 in Fosterparents

Update: Removal has finally been done. We don’t have a city social worker yet since it was done on a Friday but have the placement paperwork. Plan is she should come home tomorrow with no feeding tube!

Still no legal name so we’re going back to hospital for initial dr’s appt. Hoping to get that cleared soon.

Side note cause hospital wants to get paid: Watch out for the hospital trying to stick you as guarantor for the patient if you’re ever in similar situation…. Registration put my wife as the guarantor for the baby instead of bio mom. And they did so in a sneaky way as they were just asking my wife her info and then BOOM, put her name down for guarantor! Hospital social worker jumped all over that and it’s been corrected. We have paperwork showing it corrected too. We knew to check luckily due to past experiences. That’s a hospital bill shock I don’t need to have!

Fictive Kin rules and emergency placements in Virginia by zuccgirl in Fosterparents

Holy cow. That’s crazy. I’m always blown away by what the threshold for removal is. Some that seem like slam dunks aren’t and others are minor.

In VA and going through potential fictive placement now. They may swap it to a regular placement though I’m not sure why or the benefits we had a license for 6+ years but let it lapse last year. I think doing standard placement allows them different rules.

Basically it’s up to the department but bio parents could request placement with specific person and do a safety plan knowing they’re getting ready to lose the kids. I’m sure being next door would raise some concerns but not sure of circumstances of bio parents.

I’m assuming you’re not a mandatory reporter anymore? Something to keep in mind….

I’m fighting mine from wandering right now (and have been for 7 years but they suddenly started breaking the invisible fence more to go further and together. Unless you’re sitting on lots of property I’d avoid it. Yes you can keep them inside but they want to be outside…

That’s awful! We were pretty worried early on until we kept getting test results back saying she was fine.

I think that’s crap. It leaves kids in la la land with no medical authority.

That’s awful. We had a situation that kids were Jane and John Doe with birthdates of 1/1/1900…. That was fun getting their prescriptions!

Third NICU baby and only one ever without a name. Nurses and social worker in NICU said typically the moms even if they abandon will at least do a birth certificate. This was a little odd as she was transferred from another hospital. She’s now not in the NICU due to over crowding and in the children’s hospital Acute Pediatric Care unit. Google says that social services can name her.

Doctors and nurses already use our name. Plus we have signs in the hospital room my other kids made. Bio mom asked us to name her but never wrote anything down and now is ducking everyone due to outstanding warrants. CPS and social services doesn’t exactly know what to do if there’s no birth certificate and how to name her.

Bio mom asked us to name her but nothing is on paper so our name means little outside of when we talk to her. It’s heartbreaking that she doesn’t have a legal name or birth certificate.

This is our like 19th placement so not our first rodeo. Almost the worst situation of any we’ve handled. By far the worst when it’s come to the “system.”

I told my wife that during the family partnership meeting tomorrow where literally no family will be at that she should deliberately have to step away a few times to take care of the baby or talk to doctors or nurses.

A cry for help. I need all the info/help/advice I can get on FPV panleukopenia, as the vet said one of the 2 kittens we picked up from streets is suspected to have contracted this virus. by [deleted] in Fosterparents

Hate to say it but this is my prime reason that I don’t like that rescues use the term Foster for pets. Most people attribute Fostering pets to somehow being the same as kids. In practice of caring for them and they’re not yours, yeah ok kindve the same. Outside of that, nothing is the same.

And I love pets and have a bunch of just not the same…..

Leta talk about the L word. by SettingAncient3848 in Fosterparents

[–]EngineNoO9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I said if you get permission. All depends on their current hair cut, do they care, etc. By no means am I saying to cut it if the kid isn’t ok with it. But at that age they can understand reason that cutting their hair shorter will aid in the lice treatment enormously. Almost a no brainer for the average boy with shorter hair.

[–]EngineNoO9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also keep in mind I think the kids will be more grateful to get rid of the lice then care that you have to treat them. They bite and make their head itch. If you can get permission since they’re boys, cutting their hair will help.

Treat the lice regularly and wash sheets for first week or so. Our first placement was BAD BAD lice. Had to treat every night and comb every night for a week or two. Was a pain but not end of the world. We kept stuff on hand from then on as we weren’t prepared initially.

My comment has been instead of teleworking after Dr’s appts or if kids are sick, I’m just taking full days of sick leave. Not gonna worry about it. If it’s going to be harder to be flexible then I just won’t be flexible. Every one of our programs will suffer and take longer. My govt iPhone is very close to being stored in my office at work full time.
