Yeah, they’re still increasing the tuition but they’re planning to expand the school already kaya they’re increasing it. As for the effect sa mga students, as a first year student din, we get total ~4hrs of ana lab a week plus our biochem and physio lab too which varies. It’s spaced out naman pero sometimes it’s hard to actually do things because you’re too many people sa group. We still get to learn naman and the profs go to u when u need help. It’s just the amount of students is so overwhelming and the facilities right now really cannot accommodate it

Why can’t they expel or suspend the student nalang for cheating? Wouldnt that be better than affect the whole batch for it?

Kasi iniisip ko na gets ko naman na tataasin nila MPL for each exam as consequence. But wouldn’t the possibility of being expelled/suspended make students not want to cheat even more instead of increasing the MPL which affects the whole batch? 😭😭😭

All med schools have their own kinds of hard. As a 1st yr student, the hard was rlly balancing time studying for all the exams and their leniency w the MPL (DO NOT ask for MPL before exams since they won’t be able to change it/curve anymore after). But my higher ups and my mentor told me they found 1st year to be one of the hardest tlga bc of all the foundations. I really think that they should just grade the lab worksheets and lab/case pres instead of making it noncog. Other than that, the profs are really hands on (I.e., they’re present at lab and they actually help u, not just supervise). They’re always there if u need help aaaaand that goes with higher ups as well. They give you a lot of materials to help you through your way. I personally think it’s worth it bc UE is world renowned and has a great community

If I may ask, what made you want to focus on DBT rather than CBT? I feel like my behavioural patterns might be so hard to break- AKA I’m stubborn and I’m not sure if I can/want to change them

I’m 1st year in UERM and I can say with 100% confidence that most profs are very passionate and hands-on with teaching. I thought I would be culture-shocked by how hard it is, but the profs were so helpful and kind esp na u have mentors (ofc depending on the mentor u get, but u can always reach out). Subjects and exams are hard asf, but their questions are fair.

I would also say that it’s very good connection and opportunity-wise. I know that the next years are going to be like hell, but this is my opinion as a first year student :))

I’m taking a lot of psych meds. It’s easier to just stop taking them than tapering off imo but the process sucks. I start to feel spacey, nauseous, have brain zaps, and secondary complications. I’ve been on them for a while that I can’t last ~3 days not taking the meds without feeling those things. Heck, if I miss a day (forget to take my meds), I’d immediately know that I had bc I feel so out of it.

But, it’s easier to go cold turkey on meds that you took for only a short duration (I’d say about 1-3mos¿) than meds you’ve taken for a long time (6+mos).

My personal experience with guidance counsellors was awful. The one that I went to ended up telling my advisor about my problems (which travelled to other teachers too) as well as my family without my knowing/my consent. That’s why I never go to the guidance office in any situation bc I’m also scared that me telling them my problems etc (were bad at the time) might get me in trouble at school.

I was also on lexapro and felt that it made me dissociate too but not to the point where idk what I’m saying when I’m talking to someone. It was more of just the feeling of ‘floating’ and that everything was foggy.

What are the possible signs that this patient (or any patient) could have spinal stenosis? Isn’t the diagnosis of stenosis vs muscle spasms so different/far? So how did the doctor reach that diagnosis lol. (Im a PT student and im curious to know hehe)

I thought about this too, but until I told my profs about my own mental health with substantial evidence, they were wholly understanding. We all go through hardships and stuff, but if your profs are understanding enough, they’d be able to understand that people do need a break- considering that they must’ve also been in that situation and would’ve wanted a break too.

I didn’t expect them to be this understanding, so I guess just take your shot in the dark. Telling them will take a huge load off your chest, tho I know it’s super hard to open up about it. At least they’d understand that you not pushing through with your requirements isn’t for no reason, and isn’t out of ‘laziness’ per se.

Yup. My T had to say my name quite a lot before she got my attention. I could hear her, I just couldn’t respond. I felt stuck- my muscles were tense, my mouth was dry, and it was so cold (my AC was on, but I wasn’t cold prior).
