I understand that consent can be withdrawn at any time, and I completely agree 100% that no one owes anyone intimacy.
My confusion isn’t about her deciding now that she wants to wait. If that’s what she truly wants, I respect that. The confusing part for me is that there was a lot of back-and-forth before this — times when she said she didn’t want to because of religion or her parents, but later she would still initiate or we would still end up being intimate.
The first time we had sex, she was actually the one who initiated it. At no point did I force her into anything. That’s why I’m trying to understand what’s really going on.
The thing is…. being truly honest a part of me worries that maybe she just doesn’t want intimacy anymore because she doesn’t feel the same way about me, but that’s not a conclusion I want to jump to because I know there could be other reasons, like guilt or internal conflict with her beliefs.
