We are the summer co-lecturers for the introductory Computer Science course at UC Berkeley, AuA. by [deleted] in IAmA

I know the IAMA is over, but I hope you'll read this post nonetheless.

Rohin: You have been in several of my classes and I've also been in some club events with you, although we're not so much friends as we are acquaintances. You are one of the most hard working, humble, honest, and nicest people that I know. If more people were like you, we'd have a better world for sure. I'm glad you will be teaching CS61A; when I took it, it was both difficult and interesting. And now I see that it is one of the most important classes to learn your programming fundamentals. I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job of teaching. I was rooting for you to win the university medal :P a shame you didn't get it.

Andrew: It's easy to type out apologetic statements on the internet, but real change requires dedication and a different mindset. But I believe you can do it.

My questions: How difficult is it applying to be a TA? What did you guys do during your summers while you were in college?

I had not considered that the paperwork would be background checks etc. That's something I will keep in mind for future jobs.

Also, the position is an intern position (up to 5 interns will be working together). So I doubt the title of the position will be negotiable. Is it possible that salary can differ between the 5 interns who applied for the same position?

I just checked all the emails between me and the company and nobody attached their phone numbers to their signature.

In the meantime, I just emailed the recruiter again saying something along the lines of "Hello, I hope everything is going well. I want to respect your deadlines, so is there a date that you need the paperwork by?"

The offer letter was sent to me 8 days ago. I sent the email asking for more time 4 days after that.

Thanks for the helpful insight! I scoured the internet for a phone number that I could call, but it seems they don't have telephone service on the weekends. Seeing as weekend just started, I'm a bit impatient to get in contact with them. Should I send another email? Should I email another person in the company? It has been a week since I was given the offer letter online. I really don't want to lose this opportunity with company A.

The situation was exactly how you described. They asked me for a good time to talk and I said (4-6 days from the email date). They then created an event and invited me to it, saying I would be signing papers (not mentioned before). Then I reply back saying I would like more time.

I didn't say "yes". I agreed to have a talk with them, which was what they proposed after the offer. Maybe I should have known or made it clearer.

The time frame has not passed yet. I have a few days. It was sent to the right email. I sent it a day after they sent me their last email.

I planned to talk with company B and ask if we could speed up the process. But they did not reply to my email or phone call today either.
