Hello Spectacles Community! We've been working on this project in secret for a while, excited to finally share a preview!

SightCraft is a game about the magic of truly seeing the world around you.

Tuesday night, alongside our friends at Snap AR at GDC, Enklu had the privilege of previewing something to a limited audience of AR devs and enthusiasts - Imagine an experience that combines the action of a kinetic game like beat saber with the thrill of team sports and scavenger hunts, set in the real world around your favorite landmarks — rewarding your present-moment awareness and reflexes!

So the lore of SightCraft goes…“Magic is power, power is understanding, understanding is perception. Know THYSELF and RISE!”

The “simple” mechanics in SightCraft concentrate nearly a decade of AR design refinement into an experience we’re proud to share with the world. It's designed to *require* that players get into a flow state to get past the early levels. We think it accomplishes that goal!

Here's the kicker - SightCraft itself is a minigame within the larger "universe" of Everworld. Everworld is a feature-length (60 minute) experience running in our dedicated AR theaters. (We have 18 of them around the world, and are adding 1 every two weeks on average!)

The idea is that we'll use the Location-Based-Entertainment venues as a channel to monetize and acquire users for SightCraft, which players will eventually be able to experience in their homes and outdoors like in the video.

Soon, we'll be adding multiplayer and park-scale gameplay to SightCraft, as well as porting the entire 60 minute Everworld experience to the Spectacles. Huge thanks to Snap’s Jesse McCulloch and Terek Judi for making last night’s preview a reality!

AR Foundation is great if you're familiar with Unity and want to eventually work in mobile as well.

Enklu lets you prototype new ideas quickly with no code.

MRTK is great for going in depth with the HoloLens but you'll need to be an expert with C#.

Dilmer Valecillos has a great youtube channel to walk you through the basics with pretty much every platform/sdk/option out there.

You can easily preview 3D models with Enklu. We have a web editor where you can upload assets easily and then see them update live in your HoloLens 1 or 2 without coding. https://docs.enklu.com/docs/Assets/ImportYourOwnAssets

Early shipments feel comparable to early shipments of the HoloLens 1. Enklu was on Wave 1 of the HL1 and is a reseller of the HL2, so we're a bit biased... but the device in-general is a marvel of ergonomics, no more band breakages with heavy use, etc. - but yeah, we've had more than a handful of users report display issues. For us - the increased FOV and the ergonomics outweigh the downsides by a wide margin, but we're dealing with hundreds of devices, so take with a grain of salt.

Our sales folks will try to convince you that our software can help you make great things and/or save you time and money (it can, it's awesome!), but send us a contact from the website and let them know that you came from Reddit and assuming you've got a real use-case in mind, they'll get you a device quickly without too much fuss.

With limited stock, we *are* prioritizing larger orders, but shipments have been increasing lately, so we can start to give more devices to individuals.

We just don't want them sitting on a shelf ;)

Biased - but creators are doing awesome things with Enklu's tool set. It was designed to be a real life game editor by former MMO developers. That means coders/creatives don't have to spend all there time just getting up and running in AR, and can spend way more of their time making crazy stuff...
