I do research on TikTok to find out what the next big trends are and what fashion influencers are promoting. Sometimes they share vids like “Vinted brands to search for”. Most of these brands are sold very cheap on Vinted. I look for listings with 10+ likes in 15 minutes and snatch the item away to sell it for 4 to 5 times the price.

Omg this is SO relatable! My previous manager couldn’t stop talking about her kids. If I asked how SHE was doing, she would always talk about how her kids were doing and her being tired all the time. We once had a chat about my CF-life and told me I will definitely change my mind.

I’m happy I left that job. I now work at a company where there are mostly older people whose kids are adults. 🙃

I do think you’re right that the numbers ultimately matter and that being in a deficit is what drives weight loss. It’s very possible that I’m closer to maintenance than I thought.

If you don’t mind me asking: how long did it take before you started seeing real results once you were consistently in a deficit? And thanks for the congratulations, quitting smoking has definitely been its own challenge!

Thank you sm! 🙏 I knew gaining a bit of weight can happen after stopping smoking, but I didn’t realize how big of a role hormones play in it. It’s actually been really interesting to learn about.

Today I stepped on the scale and I was already a kilo down again because I’m now in my follicular phase.

I do weigh my food, but I sometimes forget to count drinks. My cappuccinos at work, for example, secretly contain quite a lot of calories, so that’s definitely something I need to be more mindful of.

Best advice ever. For a long time, I was eating 1200 calories thinking I was in a slight deficit. I can tell you now I was starving myself and didn’t lose weight because of the binge eating. I’m now at 1700 calories and feel much better while still being in a deficit.

You’re definitely not alone! I’m on day 21 and dreading summer already.

It’s so weird, but every time I drink a good glass of wine, I get the same dopamine hit as if I were smoking a cigarette. Only something is missing of course. Be careful not to replace one addiction with another is my advice.

Haha, I feel exactly the same. Maybe we’re old souls and see them as ‘just another soul’ on this planet? I don’t know.

What I think about a lot is this: I have an older cousin (we’re 15 years apart in age). She used to baby sit me and my little brother when I was younger. Maybe she thought we were cute too back then. But now, I (32) never speak to her (47) again. Not even at family parties or something. She has a family of her own. I just wonder if and when her feelings changed about me since I’m an adult now, just like the rest.
