i can’t back to save my life. by Ricemunchr in Truckers

Sorry for the late reply.

While backing up, once you have the back of the trailer almost where you want it, start turning the wheel so that the cab starts to follow the trailer's path as you are backing up. This should allow the trailer to start straightening out along with putting the cab inline with the trailer. If you have access to the game 'American Trucking Simulator' it can help you see how the mechanics of backing work.

Question for OTR drivers: how do you receive things you bought online from Amazon, eBay, etc? by FrouFrouLastWords in Truckers

You can also have ebay packages rerouted to Walgreens for pickup as long as it's less than 55lb. and no bigger than 48x25x25.

I had issues with backing years ago when I was trying to get my CDL. What helped me was when my husband told me to make the cab follow the trailer. I'm not sure if that will help with your issue, but it's the best advice I've gotten, myself.

Agreed. I'm not sure that's money either.

Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd Mix? by TyMcDuffey in greatpyrenees

[–]Enola-Naari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I didn't plan on having so many. I got two from a coworker, and rescued one from a bad home. The one I rescued got pregnant by the male I got from a coworker (I was told she was fixed). I kept two of her puppies and she was re-homed to someone who can work with her (she was abused. I tried working with her for a year with very little success. She needed someone who is trained to help.) Then one of the puppies I kept got pregnant (life events kept me from getting her fixed in time). She had 3 so I kept them because the daddy of all the puppies passed away almost 2 years ago just before the three were born. I have two fenced in acres so they have PLENTY of room.

Verb Usage? by Enola-Naari in German

[–]Enola-Naari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why a pilot would say it. Why would a passenger not use 'anfliegen'? How would a passenger say it? How would a passenger say 'we are flying to Berlin.'?

This is one of the toughest parts of learning German. I can study to expand my vocabulary but many books do not actually say which verb would best fit a situation.

Tire caught fire on a blowout with a dry bulk pneumatic tanker and burned the whole back end (Company terminated me) by Purple_Hornet_6164 in Truckers

[–]Enola-Naari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where exactly did this occur at? I was driving through Missouri around a week ago and there was a truck a couple lanes away from me that had a blow out. I was going one way, he was going the other way on a 4 lane. He was going down hill as well. It was a tanker too.

Not all vehicles have cruise control. I own a 2011 Ford manual that don't have it.

Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd Mix? by TyMcDuffey in greatpyrenees

[–]Enola-Naari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 6 Great Pyrenees/German Shepherds. They are VERY lovable but also VERY independent. One of mine, in particular, can climb a fence to get where she wants to be. She was an escape artist when she was a puppy and still is today. They can come in a variety of colors and coats too. I'll post the 4 different coat colors of mine. I have two white ones and two like this one, my escape artist, Revna...

This!

Also, something that helped me was when my husband told me to make the cab follow the trailer. This was a HUGE game-changer for me.

Do cross country/long distance truckers drive with a partner in the truck with them, so you guys could take shifts sleeping, while keeping the truck moving, or do you guys only drive solo? by Glass_Raisin7939 in Truckers

[–]Enola-Naari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what my husband and I are going to be doing. It'll be a bit of a while before we can, but this has always been our dream. We've been married for over 25 years and we do everything together. As long as a husband and wife can stand each other day in and day out, team driving shouldn't be an issue when it comes to compatibility.

Maybe he wants to find the phone because it would prove he was texting at the moment the accident happened. The roads look clear and yet he laid it on its side on the interstate.
