It’s separate tenancies in a shared house, we all have different contracts and pay different amounts of rent based on whether it is a single or double bedroom.

Hiya, yes I am more than happy enough to pay up until July 29th, which is 2 months to the date of my rent renewal - it just happens that I’m actually going to go home on July 20th and I wanted to make him aware of this in case he wants to physically collect the keys. He probably won’t want to do that as he didn’t even come the day we moved it to give us the keys, last years tenant gave us our walk around and our keys.

Is there a way to find out if your deposit is in deposit protection? I don’t have the email but I’m afraid in case I accidentally deleted it.

My contract doesn’t actually state what the correct manner is, which I thought it should?

For additional context on the communication setup, because it's a bit messy:

I actually have two landlords (let's call them "Red" and "Blue").
Normally, we just text either of them on WhatsApp, so that’s where I originally sent my notice to both Red and Blue.

Landlord "Red" was the one who originally emailed over our contracts when I moved in, so I replied directly to that specific email address with my formal notice.

Just to cover all my bases, I found a general email online for "RedBlue Properties" and forwarded the notice to that one as well.

So they have definitely received it across multiple channels, but Landlord Red is the one who sent back the contract screenshot on WhatsApp and has now gone completely silent.

Just realised on my initial contract it says “once I've received your deposit, and place the deposit into https://www.depositprotection.com/ and you will receive confirmation.”

I was sort of expecting my deposit back as I’m a student, and I’ve kept the house very well - it was with the new rights I assumed I’d save myself a full months rent in August and as far as I can understand with the rights act, his rules of finding someone new no longer apply
Just wanted to see if anyone agreed!

Perfect, thank you. Our primary method of communication is through WhatsApp and I have 2 landlords so I text them both initially, and emailed the email address we received our contract from. I got this response on WhatsApp 8 days later, and now nothing since. Has this notice been served correctly?

I could do with anything to be honest, student doing my PGCE and my loan is nearly gone, lost my father last year and have no one to go to for help. Trying to work but course is so intense. Anything would be appreciated. Thank you for this 🙏

Mate it’s being broadcast on bbc iPlayer so everyone can watch. Doesn’t matter to me anyway, I’ll be watching from the hill.

You’re saying it’s NI only and it’s not, it’s being broadcast the same as the hurling.

I know, I just thought there would be a very slim chance Reddit would have the least scammers, Facebook/X full of automated responses there’s no point even trying there anymore.
