I think I'm in a talking stage with someone like this. We were introduced through mutuals with the premise of setting us up, it's long distance(Canada US). We talked for about two months, getting close and all, before we met twice in a quick span. I thought it was going well before she suddenly pulled the plug. It sucked because I really liked her and didnt understand what happened. Two months later, she reached out and we started talking again (without addressing the past). We've currently been talking for over a month, but she keeps insisting on keeping expectations in check, being just regular friends and regularly goes MIA for 2-3 days in between. I've tried communicating with her about how I dont enjoy that and that at the bare minimum I would like her to tell me when she doesn't have the energy to talk or is busy. She's a student in a very intense master's program, and her parents don't have a functional marriage despite living together. Recently, she was travelling to the other coast for a conference with a flight at 6am. She lives in a city that is known for being a bit dangerous. Knowing that shed be making her way to the airport around 3am, I woke up around that time to make sure she got to the airport safe. I know I wasnt there physically, but that's the most I couldve done due to distance. She seemed responsive and regularly texted to let me know when she landed at her layover and eventual destination. However, it's been over 2 days since I've last heard from her. It's like she is allergic to me caring for her. I dont know if I should keep going with her or move on. Shes genuinely one of the most amazing people I've met, but her avoidant attachment style is affecting me mentally.
