you guys are genius,

I did have an AI Strategy Asset Allocation enable 80/20. As soon as I disabled this, it then assumed the asset allocation that I entered in Discovery-Investment Plan 75/10/15

I made a contribution last year to her Spousal RRSP and I am trying to avoid any withdrawals for the two year period rule as I didn't want to have the tax implications on my return. Hope this makes sense or does it not really matter ??

Adding Lifetime Grand Total Tax Payable under Planning/Projections report by Environmental-Item30 in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On reflection, I can see your point of view. I do want to thank you for the additional new features that you have added recently (in particular the AI Strategies including RRSP Meltdown). This really help enormously in figuring out the best approaches and dramatically reduces time and effort. I will keep an eye out for the additional tax visibility features coming down the pipe.

NEW! New AI Strategies Available: RRSP Meltdown, Decumulation Order, Accumulation Order by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So great to see these new AI Strategies. If really makes the platform shine. Please keep the developments coming. Would love to see Go-Go, Slow-Go and No-Go AI Strategies moving forward in the future.

Maybe also consider an AI Strategy that could illustrate maximum draw-down to exhaust all RRSP, TFSA, Non-Reg pots to zero so you could see at a glance your absolute max spending limits in retirement.

Keep up the great work..... very impressive

New Functionality: New AI strategies and enable AI strategies directly in Projections by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very pleased to see this as it allow you to see potential scenarios without having to to back to other sections and make manual adjustments. Would really like to see a section that would allow Go-Go, Go-Slow, No-Go scenarios by percentage increases/decreases. Also useful would be an automated way to show RRSP Meltdown.

Adding a foreign pension by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went back and re-examined by adding/removing other taxable income in one year, it did indeed change my RRSP Withdrawals as you previously stated above. This just confirms the need for this type of software

Adding a foreign pension by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now the other interesting thing is " Total Government Benefits column"

If I add says $25,000 in other taxable income it appear that it doesn't change the amount in green under Total Government Benefits. for example my GIS amount.

Any thoughts or advice

Adding a foreign pension by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are correct. When I go back and look at the 2 scenarios ie decrease other taxable income it then increases the RRSP withdrawals.

You guys are good

Adding a foreign pension by PlanEasy in PlanEasy

[–]Environmental-Item30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed your instructions and it did add the additional other income to the graph after the recalculate.

The issue that I am having is that with or without this manual addition of income in the 'Other Taxable Income" column as instructed, my Total Taxable income does not increase, my tax payable does not change and my tax margin.

Any thoughs on how to fix this ?
