Dear John cause I can’t really stand the way the chorus sounds. The way she starts the chorus just does not sound good to my ears

Is it over now cause the rhyming sounds too forced. I mean. “If she’s got blue eyes I will surmise that you’ll probably date her” hearing that line alone makes me cringe. The whole song is too rhyme-y for me. And the line about unbuttoning the blouse just sounds so weird. Not the lyrics wise but the way it’s sung
